From a gameplay POV, when does the game get "harder" ?

Normal has always been easy.. like always in D2 and so forth..

This is my first time trying out the MedianXL and i just dropped packs of 40 mobs at once.. with a single spell.. lol, seems a bit excessive :D
When does it take speed? Like.. when's it getting harder :-)

Just to have something to look forward too.

Hatred difficulty was made easier for new players to help get adjusted to the game. You'll see an increase in difficulty and monster types and bosses as you progress.

for a hard version you can go for an older patch where the "Hard mode charm" can increases the difficulty (also adding more MF iirc) . above /players 8 , HMC could add up to +11 more , just like playing /players 19

i sometimes miss that charm too

I'd say Level Challenge 1 is quite an increase in difficulty to normal questing, after that I'd say A3 Terror and then again the whole Destruction difficulty. At last the Uberlevels/Bosses have quite a steep learning curve.

That's how it used to be for me at least, not sure for the new Patch!

HMC? How many years ago was it removed? Like 8+? Poison sorc even used to have diseased cattle back then iirc

It starts getting harder towards end of act 1 well that when I used to notice a jump in difficulty, not sure if it still the case in 2017 with rebalancing. Of cause class and skills has an effect.
