It has been explained that old characters will not work anymore under mxl 2017 release.

Ah ok, no biggie since I started playing yesterday so my highest toon is level 32 lol

its not a complete rework, that will come in sigma, this is more of a fixing-items-as-per game now and getting rid of useless shit on many items and adding useful shits on many.. its too wide of a topic for me to write about it.

I've said it before already, but there will be no Runeword/Unique revamp until Sigma. Many of those items require the Sigma core features in order to work.

The items rework in 2017 involves changes to all items which feature stats mentioned in the Damage rework & Magic rework parts of the changelog + ported s13 balance changes + a few other minor tweaks.

Alright so if I'm understand this correctly, the proc rates and most affixes of existing items will remain the same, but ed% and -enemy resist will be toned down as per the patch dmg rebalance?

Part of the character damage nerf (along with monster hp to keep same ratio as in current version) is in reducing damage of all weapons.
