Make sure to add "MXL.dll" to "DllToLoad=" section of PlugY.ini file (without the quotes, obv). Fixed it for me, anyway.

Uninstall any previous median version or launcher

Delete patch_d2.mpq in your d2 folder

Get the new launcher (0.2.7.0)

Install and update

If you crash you probably didn't install the new launcher and are using the old one (MXL_Setup_v0.2.6.0), and/or didn't delete patch_d2.mpq.

This worked for me. I downloaded the new patch from moddb first and applied it and installed the launcher after and it kept crashing. Deleted the patch_d2.mpq , opened launcher and clicked "Install". Now it seems to work just fine!

3 times in 3 different games :/ I reinstall the game upp with 1.13c and still the same after few seconds of playing
