They may cost more, but their effectiveness is greater as well. You can only craft 5 mystic orbs per item now.
You can easily collect the gold by selling apples in act 5 or selling rings/amuletts. That way I had 380 k gold when I reached act 5 hatred. That was enough to fully Mo' 3 items with 10 mystic orbs each.
are my charms going to be ruined if i installed the new patch?

It has been moved to Shenk on Destruction Diffuculty (not listed in patch notes, I had it drop myself),

And lets not foget that you can sell runes for a lot of gold. An example for the new players : Act 5 Malah ... buy any throwing weapon from her (javelins ,
, spear , glaves etc. ). Use the highest tier runes you got and socket them into the items you just bough. If they don't have a socket you can use unwatned jewels ( they sell for scraps..) to make a socket into an item by transmuting it with the jewel itself.
The act or process of comparing : the rune can be sold for average 600 gold and the item socked in it from ... well I will let you have the fun.
