Tbh the hard part was already done by others, who managed to derive the special case formula for the wereforms. All I had to do was understand what is going on, which is which and then plug some numbers in.

What is also interesting is that teryys (who made speedcalc originally) simply used the general attack speed formula for the wereforms. I wonder if that means that his values for the special sequences and Barb/Assa dual wield are also wrong... Something to check another day.

Anyway I have now updated the tables and also provided the full spreadsheet if anyone wants to play around with their own char stats. Seems like the broad sword was not as mandatory as we all believed.

suchbalance wrote:Sorry I don't quite understand what you mean by "graphing purposes". Also "there should be no difference with using sIAS vs item IAS", do you mean that sIAS counts for the same as gear IAS in the formula in the case of lod morphs? This doesn't seem to be the case from the source I'm using and the various speed calculators I tested on.

I was trying to make the point that no source of skill IAS (i.e. wolf, ecstatic, etc.) is mandatory to max out fpa, because you can accomplish the same by using item IAS (which is obviously less effective, but gives more gearing freedom). No, I'm not saying item and skill IAS are equally efficient, I'm just saying that making a graphic with wolf/ecstatic/etc can be misleading since people might think they need these skills while in reality they can use item IAS and the key (and point of this topic) lies on WSM.

Either way, cool research here, will read sometime :)

It counts as gear IAS.

Basically if you are using anything but a Great Sword, end game you will always be in the "Max SM" column on the tables. With a great sword you will either need to stack a lot of IAS on gear (200) or have some sort of extra skill IAS to cap it out.

The reason I put the motw + 40gias column is just to show how that variable affects the fpa, although I should probably remove it to avoid confusion.

I did not bother writing them down but you can work them out if you wish. (or wait until we port the "fixed" speedcalc into mxldb)

Replace the following fields in the wolf spreadsheet, it will then work out the ias breakpoints for an a2 merc with the werebear morph.

Frames char = 16
Char speed = 256
Anim Length = 12
Frames Neutral = 10

  • 9fpa @ 0 weapon IAS
  • 19 wIAS for 8fpa
  • 33 wIAS for 7fpa
  • 50 wIAS for 6fpa
  • 71 wIAS for 5fpa
  • 98 wIAS for 4fpa
  • 185 wIAS for 3fpa
  • 261 wIAS for 2fpa

Just to be clear - these are the correct numbers above? They don't correspond to the spreadsheet you posted.

At 75 effective speed / -10WSM / 100wIAS it displays 5fpa

That's for broad sword which is -20wsm. Just read the first post, ignore the rest of the thread, all the info is there.
