Because people are so used to things being easier and cheesable and buying charms immediately to start farming. Take that away, and the ladder slows down to a normal rate.

I wasn't connecting Sa cheese with nerfed charms, I was pointing out that now with corpse recovery it's much easier to get charms, that's why their stats are lower, so it's like we are paying price for not having it too easy. Just my thoughts

realistically it takes much less time to invest time gearing up (even with TU6, rws) and do the ubers normally than it is by doing kamikaze. that's why ultimately it's not a problem. and the strategy works mostly for the easy quests.

flat stats reduction from charms is unrelated to this change. Stats were reduced on very endgame charms to prevent people from having too much of an edge in the lategame in farming speed compared to people who still haven't beaten them. And we are looking to gradually reduce charm stats (for reasons explained in sigma topic).

Optical detector is endgame? hmm.

With the improvements to Duncraing and body recovery, the Void charm is less of an endgame goal/requirement regardless of how its acquired.

Edit: Also, what the hell happened to max life % on Yshari charm?

I wonder if it would be possible for bosses to heal half their current damage when a player dies near them? I don't know if a mechanic like this is possible in MXL, but perhaps in Sigma? This would obviously stop the corpse cheese.

Nothing can stop cheesing dude. There will always be a way. The only way to delay the methods from spreading is to stop telling everyone ways to break the system over discussion, but that will always happen :-D

Didn't Marco just say that endgame charms were tuned down in order to lessen the gap between gringos who got the charms and those who didn't?

True, but Fumbles also mentioned optical detector, and there is also nerfed silver seal of ureh and judgement day charm.

While I find entertaining to have high stats, mostly achieved by endless farming combined with trading & taking risks with explorer's umos - it looks to me that it's going in the direction where everything will be opposite to high numbers.

If it weren't for this feature, I'd never do Triune again.

Also, would be really nice if Moon Symbols actually healed instead of just wasting belt slots.
