Depends on the build, but usually:
- F1-F5 for long duration buffs
- Z-X-A for my main skills
- Q for most used utility skill (windform/edyrem/purify)
- S/C for short duration buffs (rapture/vindicate) and panic skills (pagan rites/sacred armor/spellbind)
- D for town portal, V for teleport, Space for move only, Caps Lock for swap weapons, the rest are for other skills if needed. If I'm playing barb I also have 2 most used stances bound to mouse wheel :D

E for sacrifices
R for anything that the uber requires like edyrem, townportal, purify, boneyard, psyonic storm or funeral pyre
Leftclick for summon skeletal flayers
W for weapon switch
Rightclick on W for either Blink or hounfor (I don‘t use Hotkeys for those 2 and manually switch to blink for certain Ubers)

I‘m just so used to playing with the F keys that I can‘t get used to to something else even with other builds.

How do you run or check stuff on the ground... it's just so hard to imagine using F-keys.

Why would I need to run if I just can use Bend the shadows :D

I'm checking stuff on the ground with the ALT-key. I can play perfectly fine that way :D Especially since the F keys are mostly used for buffs and summons. It's fairly easy to switch between the summons as they die rather frequently compared to totems. And the totem that dies the most is usually frostclaw totem, that's why its hotkey is close to the other summons. Howling totem and DFT barely ever die.

My thumb is resting on Alt all the time. My fourth finger is on tab (for map) and the F key can be easily accessed with the middle finger and the pointer. If I want to summons skeletal flayers, I use my fifth finger to click shift.

Yes for summoner that is fine but about when you play some other skill-intensive char? Must be hard...

F1-f4: usually buffs/least used summons
then there is a space to f5 so its easy to find on
F5: unsummon

Then i use the keys qe,asdfg, xcvb as follows:
Q: tp
E: useful skill eg shadow refuge
A: semi-often used/res breaker skill like phase bomb or spellbind
S: teleport/jitans gate ring finger usually touches this
D: preferred summon like skeletal flayers on bombsin
F: main skill where index finger usually is
G: 2nd main/alternative/supplemental skill like psionic storm for alternate dmg source or idol of scos on treewarden
Xcv: edyrem and something less used
b: dark summoning because b is hard to reach on accident

additionally:
Y/shift (z on usa keyboards): standstill-attack with pinky finger hovering over it
Space/alt: show items with thumb usually pressing space constantly
W: weap switch
R: run switch
T/enter: open chat dialog, very convenient and faster than enter alone to open it to write "hi" or something while doing something tricky

on the right side of keyboard is the menu functionality
U: quest log
I: inv
O: merc inv
P: party menu
K: char window
J: skill tree
M: message log

That way the skills and menus are neatly divided on the keyboard and using skills is comfortable

well, yeah... I hate using many skills. Imho you only need 1 skill for groups and 1 for single targets. That's why I can't start liking sorc at all. You have to switch between 2 skills all the time due to immunities. You can't just use 1 strong skill that easily kills masses of enemies.

Let's just say I'm lazy when playing.

In practicality, it's really basic. I just use Shift to cast Stormcall, occasionally tap Space to show items or hold it. Teleport and/or Thunderstone and that's about it.

Probably just looks like a lot since I play on a Macbook and don't have F Keys without pressing a Fn key to make the F keys appear.

That's fine too, point of this whole topic is starting to come up. :)
I myself like the most skill-switching builds there are, just so I don't pass out when levelling or farming. It also really makes you feel like YOU are actually doing something.
