Not everyone have enough RAM to keep 8 windows of D2 opened
it's not as lagy as you would think, but it's a compromise solution . my wife's laptop has just 4gb ram and it still runs smooth enough with 8 game instances opened , i did not hear her complain :))

when we are both home playing i just need to open 4 and she opens the other 4 then we lan all the 8

the most annoying /frame reducing part is actualy Glide , not the number of games opened .

Even though experience and drop rates are tweaked for a single player that doesn't mean you're getting exactly the same effect as it would be with /players 3 by default. You can read about Players Setting there https://diablo2.diablowiki.net/Player_Settings, it's not an entirely accurate article but it should be more that enough to understand that this command not only affects experience and nodrop (and there is no tweak for nodrop in SP btw) but some other factors as well.

Real players count doesn't work exactly the same way as a players command, yet again you can read Experience In a Party from there https://diablo2.diablowiki.net/Experience, although I'll quote the most important part for you "Finally, only those party members within 2 screens of the monster death receive experience". And since you're claiming that you were getting only 8 exp per monster, do you realize there is no rounding rule applied in integer arithmetic, any fractional part is simply being ignored, e.g. 8 exp + 10% from it would still be 8 exp.

Nice try Mr. Bagboy_Brown, but you better learn some math :coolstorybob:

More like too long could not read. Why would you read an article to educate your dumb ass on game mechanics? You couldnt even read how a Kabraxis rune functions when its socketed. Im sure if you took 5 minutes to read up on stuff and improve game knowledge, youd have your tal xis dagger not have a level req of 140.

I haven't played this game in a month, I couldn't really care less about it.

Understandable, but why are you so entitled to answer the question which you don't have the answer for?

No, the players command will not come back. Single player already has boosted drop rates and experience gain rates to compensate for the fact that they cannot play in party or trade. What's nice with that is builds/players that are not able to play comfortably on /players 8 are not penalized. Additionally, players that do not know about the command are not left with a disadvantage because they didn't know about an undocumented feature.

As for extended stash, it's already been discussed that it will be available both in SP and MP eventually, hopefully soon.
