[2016] Alternative Maps (clarified)

Just a point of grammatical order. Alternative is a noun, the adjective you want in alternate.

We considered several alternate routes, but decided that the M1 was the best alternative.

That being said, cool maps.

Which maps? New ones haven't been introduced or even decided on yet.

Well... technically, both alternative and alternative can be nouns AND adjectives (although only alternate can be a verb: "take turns").

As an adjective, alternative = "another choice/possibility". Whereas alternate = "first this, then that, then this etc. in sequence". I believe only in Murica alternate can be used as an adjective for: "another choice".

For example the sentence "An alternate plan called for immediate action." is incorrect in UK English. So basically, moral of the story is, make sure that resume is meant for work in the states

Anyway, back to the subject of maps. I think that there should be at least 10 maps of each uber. If we can't have that can we have at least one map that bears some resemblance to the layout of the game Q-bert?

AFAIK, Median XL is the only D2 Mod that use alternative map.
IMO, its unique, its awesome... make us different from other Mod... *Cool*

Effort to reward: new maps are cool! but would they add that much? I'm not sure. I think effort would be better spent on other areas (like MXLU16 core).

For me as a beginner it's absolutely required to have a map, because fighting the wrong way through a dungeon for about half an hour is not really fun.
Generally you invest a lot of time and deaths into progressing the wrong way.

Is there the possibility to have both? To have simple ubers always have the same layout to get to know the tricks - and harder ubers to be a bit more random for higher skilled/progressed players.
