What OS do you have? I hope not Win10. If you're you using D2SE only for PlugY, please consider switching to the Launcher: it has PlugY integrated and it's more stable. Right now the only thing I feel suggesting you is to uninstall both D2LoD and D2SE then reinstall the game, restart, run the vid test then the game, install the Launcher and run Median.

BUMP;

PC :
W10 x64

this is a big joke; read about 56 different guide, all were out to date or irrelevant

installed diablo 1.13c, installed median xl launcher, never got anything to work

the closest i get to work is by NOT using the 1.3.1 launcher and go the old way, but still, when i try to create a multiplayer game or join one, it crashes with (HALT error)

its HALT error or that C000005 error that kills the game.

game is empty online

Uninstall D2 and everything related to it so make sure to have a clean PC, restart the computer, install D2 LoD (not in program files folder), right click on D2 icon and in property set it to run as an administrator, add Diablo II to Windows DEP as an exception, restart the computer.
Run the D2VidTst inside the game directory and make a choice, run D2Lod and then close it and install the launcher (not in program files folder) and let it install the mod, right click on the Median XL icon and set it to run as an administrator, restart the computer, try to run the mod (if the Launcher is getting you problem make sure to read the tips in OP, if everything works fine but you can't connect to the realm download this registry file and run it ( https://www.mediafire.com/file/l8p4kp3z ... .zip/file# ), restart e retry joining an online game, post if you're still getting errors.

OK im giving one more try

this is a big big joke I mean, its documented it should be easier with latest version but, this is a mess from A to Z

Edit

not working
*read all those tutorials here, wasted my time
redo that circus of uninstalling / re-installing to another drive
reboot
added game and D2 LOD in DEP exclusion thing
reboot
did the videotest
reboot
installed launcher
reboot
shortcuts are set (compatibility XP SP3 , run as admin)

I can launch the game, when I hit multiplayer, it crashes with the C0000005 error

im done, waiting for an actual working mod

game.exe in the d2 folder should also be set to compatibility win xp sp3/run as admin.

Are you running the game in windowed mode?

I used the guide here:
viewtopic.php?t=4561

but this looks out-dated because of the medianXL launcher

downloaded version 1.13C and made sure that's the one im using here

I can reach up to the TSW channel display in-game , but cannot create or join any multiplayer game :(

i am using windowed mode
i disabled PlugY because i just want to play online !
using 3DFX Glide
I did ran the video test
Installation folder is E:\Diablo II

edit:
i have to admit i am a stubborn guy and really want to try this mod lol.
I am deleting D2 and re-installing again!

Try getting the game to work without any 3rd party programs. Like plugy/d2se etc.

Yes, this is exactly what I am doing, installed V1.14b instead + launcher

im still getting same issue when clicking on multiplayer, its very odd

i added game.exe in DEP thing again, reboot, tried again, same thing

not using PlugY again, windowed mode only!
