True. Sometimes you can get some nice drops running through the Durance, though.

Throughout playing D2, I've usually found my best drops on the way to the bosses.

Switching with Melee Necro and Melee Unholy Paladin. They are safe and fast on those levels and can sacrifice quite a bit for MF.

Caster Druid for farming charms/trophies.
