i desperately need help

the first is right after clean install

last is right after the patch finished and tries to auto start the game

Can you try two things:

1) Go into the properties of game.exe and tick "run as administrator" and enable compatibility with win xp sp2. See if it will run.

2) Install in a directory outside of program files - newer windows seems to throw a fuss when you swap files in and out there.

ill try another install outside but ive already tried all service packs xp 2 and 3. giving the outside program a try. am i the first to try this from 1.14 to 1.13? no one else done it and succeeded?

No others have downgraded successfully, which is part of the problem. I cannot reproduce your issue for now even after just doing a few reinstalls myself.

Most people could rollback just fine. But several persons are having this issue.

just download it from a torrent, and then patch to 1.13c

Thought this might help a lot of people having trouble. I tried pretty much everything and this finally worked.
