Mac user here, I think i managed to get it working...

I had a wine port of the pc version of diablo II LOD

I installed the launcher using the same wine port ( I didn't change the installation path), then as suggested by SwineFlu, I created the folder /MedianXL/Save inside the MedianXL Launcher folder

Then I dl the MPQ file of sigma from reddit https://www.reddit.com/r/MedianXL/comme ... ted_sigma/
Also dl the fog.dll et D2sigma.dll from the link gave by "vendicator"

put all three files into my diablo II folder
launched Wine, put -w, test ran and it worked!

tchiby, Thanks a lot. One question: How can i make it fullscreen?

Answer myself: It is because of 3dfx viedo mode, i just had to change it with glide-init.exe

Okay, I managed to run the game with Diablo II.exe in full screen, but only after I ran D2VidTst.exe, which set the game to Direct3D. So it should be a problem with Glide.

%userprofile%/Application Data/MedianXL/Save

Thanks a lot! Looks like everything works in linux for now! /home/user/.wine/drive_c/users/%userprofile%/Application Data/MedianXL/Save
Big Big thanks dude

Hey guys, anyone who managed to make it work on MacOS Wine, could you make a clear, step by step guide?

Or a native installer would be even better:)

well, i cant get the install program to work with linux because apparently some library is missing (which is not missing) and some other component shows up as missing in terminal as well and i dont know enough about linux to fix that.

i hope in the future sigma has better support for more systems

here's macOS app created with Wineskin: https://mega.nz/#!xdQDjSqR!7uRTpmdewMEj ... 5sJCg-Tl9Y

working status:
  • game - yes (MP not tested), but in the log I see the following, not sure how it affects the game: Patch Failed, error in WriteProcessMemory when patching 'D2Launch.dll'
  • launcher - no
  • glide - no

Not sure which distro you're using, but it works in current Ubuntu and Mint (so I assume it should work in all current Debian-based distros).

Also not sure which WINE version you're using, but I'm using WINE 4.0-rc6 (Staging). Couldn't get it to work in WINE 3.0.4 (Stable), but didn't try it in that version with the Linux launcher.

Speaking of which, make sure you're using the Linux laucher and not the Windows launcher (it does work with the Windows launcher, but I had some issues with it).

Linux launcher (courtesy of Deafwave):
x32: https://s3.us-east-2.amazonaws.com/medi ... 6.AppImage
x64: https://s3.us-east-2.amazonaws.com/medi ... 4.AppImage

It's an Appimage file, so you need to mark it as executable to run it.

As far as necessary packages, you'll need:
> WINE (ofc)
> Winetricks (to easily install components)
> xdelta3 (which you can easily install via Synaptic Package Manager)
> Fuse (which is already preinstalled in Ubuntu 18.04, but which you can install via Synaptic, too)

As far as WINE components, I installed the following via Winetricks (though not sure all are necessary):
> vcrun6
> vcrun6sp6
> vcrun2010
> vcrun2017
> msvcrit
> corefonts

Finally, make sure WINE is running programs in Windows 7, 8/8.1, or 10 compatibility mode.

I'm also not very good at Linux, so hopefully something here helps.

Has anyone gotten D2Stats working with sigma? I always get an
[UpdateHandle] Couldn't open Diablo II memory handle. (error: 1; extended: 0)

error when I start D2Stats and the game is running.
