How would you implement dyes?

Without thinking about the limitations of modding, how would you add dyes to Median XL?

I would make a few dyes available straight from the beginning, because character customization is always fun. Dyes would be sold by an NPC and the prices would be relatively high, but still something you can afford after a little bit of grinding. There could be for example 4 basic dyes which are easy to get, and the rest of the dyes would be rare drops or/and includes cubing. In addition there would be "chromatic" dyes as a reward from achievements. The chromatic dyes would be something hideous, just to make you feel special. :D

At least the trailer didn't mention anything about dyes, so I suppose there's time to think about this topic.

Normal colors should drop standard but white (the glowing color) should drop from bosses or have a drop rate similar to Beladonna elixirs.
