I was doing some totemancer runs just now and holy shit is he fast. Was in Kurast @ 35mins without being underleveled...
However that character is not for people with anger issues - one wrong bend and you are dead, the run is over and the rage is real. I lost 3 WR pace runs back-to-back to gloopers, blinking in durance 1 into a room with TWO(!!) cruciator packs & a Que-hegan pack, and then OBS crashed on the 3rd run just as I made it into A4
So while he seems to undeniably be the fastest runner (no surprises here) you are always going through hell until you get a great run and the variance seems to be much higher than sorc. A4 and A5 should be a cakewalk I assume given how open they are.

Sounds about right. I think I've mentioned that multiple times on stream, thinking that the lack of survive-ability would get the best of anyone's sanity. I never bothered with a full run with one simply because of that.

Dropping in to say that those speed runs are hardcore epic material 
On the notion that totem necro is squishy though - why not invest points into deathlord - it will greatly boost defense and walk speed ?
The only (kinda) drawback will be cast rate depending on attack speed but with a short staff it still will feel decent
