And you can do the same with a marrow staff. The Problem is that you will want to upgrade both a weapon and a shield compared to upgrading a weapon only.

The main issue I see here: around level 90 or a bit later you'll find a good rare marrow staff with +10 skills anyway, which makes all farming beforehand useless because we want as many +skills as possible in earlygame so our merc gets buffed even more. Especially DFT profits a lot by +skills. So farming those arcane crystals is most likely not worth it since we're changing the weapon soon anyway.

I'm not saying those items are bad. They aren't. It's just that we don't require the extra farming in early game to get easily to lvl 120. And that's what I wanted to present: a build that can easily get to 120 and achieve most things.

Anyway, this guide ist mostly only a guideline. If you want to use other items, you're free to do so.
IMO my guide only shows how to achieve the most fluid gameplay.

Minion life is uncapped. But if you only give 1hard point to embalming + 1 hard point to rampagors then they will rollover. Cap is increased witch hard skill points it was discused before.

In M2017 could be diffrent but in old times omegas they never die.
