watching on 2nd screen?
how much of the language to you understand? i usually do the same but with english podcasts because i understand what they say, if its japanse and i dont understand anything besides random words like NANI it bothers me instead of doing me good

big problem is im not big fan of mecha and little girls (thats why i usually dont watch stuff like black bullet), which kicks alot things out of the race
took a quick look through that list, gonna give these a try and set them on plan to watch: (im quick to drop animes though if i dont like first few episodes)

You dont have to follow my style if if it too hard. I basically need background noise while playing tedious / boring grinding game. I dont watch anime when I playing narrative or action game.

From ur list:
1. Gatekeepers is old anime, probably one of the earliest anime I watched on AXN channel in early 2000s. Got mecha though, mostly about teenager with power (gate to other various type of power)
2. Soukyou no Fafner is kinda like Neon Genesis Evangelion on a small island with character design from Gundam Seed. Again, it heavily mecha focus.
3. Ghost Hunt - Is kinda detective series about searching through paranormal stuff, but this one is kinda hit-or-miss for certain ppl
4. Kekkaishi - Is kinda like action / shounen type anime about capturing monster using barrier. IIRC it is quite long, but personally I would recommend to watch a shorter or a better scored series if you have limited time
5. World Trigger - Same as above, for the time I spent I watching them, I think the series is good but better focus on series that give more impact.
6. Appleseed - This one a bit tricky because it is an old movie. Mostly watched for the beautiful CGI for that time. At least I think I scored it highly because of graphic / visual.
7. Kara no Kyoukai -This is long series of multiple movies that have various quality (usually good visually because of UFOtable). I believe there was 7 movies + 1 extra at the end.
8. Arslan Senki - Out of all in the list, I highly recommend this one because it was re-created by FMA mangaka. I believe it is mostly about wars and politic, as the MC trying to survive on the battlefield. I dunno is Berserk is kinda similar tones to this one or not.

Series I just watched:
1.Heavy Object
Anime from adaptation of Toaru's LN series writer IIRC. Basically it is about wars in futuristic apocalyptic world where instead of fighting using tank, planes or ship, War are dictated by new Big Ass Spherical Robot with tons of cannons that can withstand nuclear blast (Think like technodrome from Ninja Turtle). Overall, the cast or amount of characters are quite small as we focused more on 2 characters on the battlefield trying to outwit enemy's heavy object. There is elite female pilot for each heavy object that have been heavily modified to control (normal human cant control this robot). So storywise it is pretty much trying to figure out tactic on how to beat each of enemy's heavy object. Series is not perfect, as our MC seem always have solutions for all problems and the storyline is kinda like predictable. At the end, it is the interaction between characters that made the series much more interesting.

2. Kyoushirou to Towa no Sora
If you remember from what I said about March came like a Lion, monologue is one of effective way for you to deliver emotion, state of mind to the user. EXCEPT THIS ONE, in early episode you will get bombarded constantly with monologue "my dear prince" (think like "dear diary") while MC monologuing about surrounding event and what she think about it. The plot of whole series is unclear until mid-series where you will be thrown by weird / not-clear about what happening to our MC. Tbh, if you looked at the poster, it got nice artwork for it but the quality of series is just terrible (2009 anime iirc) so I kinda got tricked with it. However, the conclusion of series is one of the best bittersweet ending (think any Clannad crying scene) but not good enough to raise score for whole train-wrecked first half of the series.

I should start to find any recent completed excellent series or my brain will melt.

bumperino.

Watching M.D. Geist Director's Cut again, last time i watched was around 20 years ago. It's great, mindless, violent fun. Those who can't enjoy it are probably a bunch of teenagers who want to see something "profound" or "life changing" pure slice of life shit where the MC is your generic beta guy. I grew a second pair watching it for the first time - i'd consider that life changing.

That's because the story isn't over yet. The problem is that The mangaka takes months to release a single chapter.

Just a little comparison: HunterXHunter started in 1998. One Piece started in 1997.

Despite the fact that One piece releases only 3 chapters per 4 weeks because of Oda's health, HxH has 377 chapters, whereas OP is only missing 3 more chapters till chapter 900.

But tbh, the continueing story is about Kurapika and Leorio, and until now it's no good. At least that's what I think. The two of them are going to a new continent and in order to get there they have to hire on the offspring of a King. The King just decided that the one family member who arrives at the new continent will receive the crown next. And he's got like 14 children. So yeah. They are all killing each other. But it's not about Kurapika's dream anymore and it's not about Leorio's either (because both will definitely only happen once they reached the new continent). This is basically all just filler, and still it takes the Mangaka so freaking long that it's annoying. I'd say the mange is dead for the next 4-5 years until the chapters on the new continent can finally begin.

I just heard that the 4th season of Highschool DxD will release on april 10th, so I guess I'll start watching the previous episodes again. I've waited like 3 years to get another season! It's about time! Too bad that the manga ain't that far either because it both is based on a light novel q.q

btw: since when is this thread in the off-topic section? I couldn't see any news on this thread in the top 10 newest posts in this forum for quite some time now.

Edit: just read Iwansqualls anime list. I like that Kiss x Sis is on place 1369 (last) :D

I just want newer anime where the main guy isnt a worthless beta male who gets beat up by the girls physically or mentally or both. Something like the main character in Shinmai Maō no Tesutamento or Hagure Yuusha no Estetica. I dont think that's a very tall order to have but we get that kind of main character only once every blue moon.

Blablabla

Hmm, i like the original 1999 anime series a lot. Problem for me is this. The whole thing is suppose to be about Gon finding his father, right ? And whole journey/search thing is more focused about other chars and their development than main char. Hunter egzam - ok 4 chars are kinda equal, and Gon + Killua duet starts to shine brightly. But then everything goes down and becomes Kurapika vs Spiders. Later when that computer game island it's Gon + Killua again but other chars receive more time + emphasis on whole cards/game/nude hisoka/bomber and main char is dissapearing again. Then i continue with 2011 series with ants - same story main focus on ants king, old kamikaze guy and Killua, who became main char imho. Series show his development from cold sin to warm carrying matured brother person. Gon - still same kind with "idontgiveashit" father. Suprised that his father is not black. Kappa.
