Never played caster sorceress seriously but i can tell you that ele pierce is first priority then sd energy and ef. So get some pierce gear for your element of choice. -135 should be enough.

Scared/ornate crafted items and some TUs like T4 circlet are your friends.

Can anyone give tips how to gear totemancer? Is it feasible to stack pierce for all elements or just focus on 1 or 2? How important is EF? I dont usually play anytype of caster so im clueless to what are the priorities in gearing unusual type of caster like totemancer is.

Id say easiest builds for beginner are traprat druid, xbow necro or any kind of melee barbarian. If you want more laidback gameplay check out summoner guides for necro paladin and barb.
Remember that no build can just roflstomp hell/ubers without some effort and gear planning.

Any character will be able to farm well depending on build but if youre new player i would recommend xbow necro or hammerzon as they are easy to gear well enough for duncraig farming. You can find guides for them at the forum.
