I told HC players several times to record their gameplay exactly because of such situations.

actually $ matches end of string so "Gauntlets$" would match "Light Gauntlets" - to match only Gauntlets you have to use "^Gauntlets" (^ matches beginning of string)

However what about non-ladder realm characters that you'd like to keep playing? If they're not going to be compatible with 2.0 hopefully there will be a way to continue to play them in 1.8, perhaps being able to download/convert them to single player?
