I cant believe how slow TQ was that when I check my steam play time already 7 hours, and I barely reach 1st act boss.

I toggle to fastest game speed, and was using xmax to get more mobs density, but even with semi clearing all area, it still feel very slow.....
Maybe because I was playing a build that not effective at clearing mobs (ranger, hunting need 32 mastery points for scatter shot - aoe bow skill)
Now already lvl 20 at last town in act 1 (athens i think?), surrounding mobs are around lvl 13.

(On other note, diablo3 took about 8 hours during my first playtime to complete the story mode)

maps are large, fights are slow. what did you expect, it was always like that,

does it feel any better than cTQ?

Not yet, i have not much experience since IIRC i only played warfare a lot in the past, until i found median / paths mod.
Old titan quest was fun with warfare since I used couple of utility skill to move around (for hunting... i only put points into LMB skill...and 1 aura)

But some of changes are from community patch, so I think they rebalanced mostly endgame stuff and prevent imba combination (zero cooldown, stack avoid etc)

If I couldve mod TQ, mostly I would:
1. Increased experience gains (I noticed some mobs give more than other despite same level), up to 50% increased. It feel very grindy and slow because i keep hoping for a level up for skill points
2. Increased base move speed (tbh, playing fastest speed now feel normal to me, but TQ was a bit clunky to hit n run though)
3. Mastery reset (I made a mastery mistake and now I feel burned :( heard that it will be added in next version)
4. A method to reset NPC item (I have to restart the game couple of times to find good green item from vendor, but no money.... need 500k .... i only have 200k saved up)
5.Increased quality of drops (I got tons of rare, but stat in TQ usually boring so I just collect small rare item to sell them for gold, I think runes / charms drop quite decent but i only maybe completed couple of act1 set)


At this pace, I dunno if I want to spend time until end of legendary (3rd diffculty). Not that I hate it, but i rather completing other game in the backlog(usually 8hours~ for one game)

Small update:

1. Feel game now much better, 1shot everything aside from pierce / bleed resist mobs
2. Got about 15% total speed and about 15% atk speed, that speed up the game by alot.
3. Skipping multiple side area, I think i will visit it again in case i missed big side quest (the one that give skill points)
4. Got couple of gear upgrade, aside from speed, increased my dps about 50% with bow upgrade, dmg from other gear
5. Boss till tough to kill but not so dangerous, I got debuff that reduce their pierce and bleed resist which help a bit.

Still have 15 skill points saved up, I dunno either I should start getting lvl32 mastery for nature now or later since it focused more on survival while Im searching for faster clear / kill speed. (If there is mastery reset, i wouldve changed to other skill tree..)

btw its pretty arguable if xmax makes game easier or harder, if you wanna show balls go chucnorris or something like it :twisted:

nah, i rather not spend too much time boasting here.
pretty much just sharing it here as my blog.

xmax general made it easier for aoe build since you get fast experience gain but for bosses, some a bit harder since they can gang on you in small boss area.


Act 3:
1. Have to spend all extra point for survival, as expected mobs here hit hard with tons of crowd control, piercing damage and spell
2. There is a boss than stun -> ice meteor -> 1shot me to death. I admit my cold resist was abit low but that just only 1 boss since i was trying to kite him

3. Rushing so much, I only kill like all the mobs in the main road and feel like my level is just only a bit higher than normal (usually im level higher than bosses). Already reach 3/4 of act3.
4. No longer 1 shot mobs, however now it feel more fun to hit / kite / run.
5. Still not sure if if I should go for pet in nature tree or not (other option is heal spell, long cooldown blocking wall or spammable poison aoe)


My current gear, many of those are still from act 1. I havent any interesting one yet or i just plain lazy to upgrade.

Finally beat typhon (in game time, 21 hours 45 minute... man that took so long almost like jrpg)

1. Rushing through level with xmax is bad idea, last part act 3 have tons of dangerous mobs (cyclops with shout/stun is fuking annoying)
2. Telkine is super dangerous in super tight area, luckily I can kite him 1 by 1 and kill easily
3. Typhon seem faster now, I dunno why I feel I cant hit n run despite high move speed and attack speed
4. Found another good attack speed gear, i dunno why I love them so much.

Another not so big update.

1. Cleared all normal sidequest, took awhile to find everything while im clearing most of the mobs. They were still tough despite I overlevel them around 6 levels
2. Rushing epic difficulty without xmax because I want to get all the achievement lol, since I was overlevel the mobs, it was quite a breeze and clear within 2 hours with all sidequest done
3. Got couple of arcane formula, seem always drop the first time you open the majestic chest. I still cant make any of epic formula though, since I dont have all artifact
4. Putting points to wolf now, people said it is better in harder difficulty. Quite decent for their proc that give bonus dmg and speed

*Great news, Paths mod now available on steam works. However I dunno I want to spend next 2 weeks on just playing titan quest...... I still need to finished my 4 jrpg before december :(
