Banned for 11hours...

Good morning everyone,

I was in a game, for most of the night, and when i've level up 130, I decide to do some trading, so I quit my game... and I got a message box saying that i've been Banned for 11hours for Multilogging, I don't have any mule account, or 2 pc's playing at the same time.. is there any chance I could be unbanned or something? Because I don't understand.

Being french can often be considered a handicap, but I think you're doing great! Keep it up!

It's unlikely you were banned for multilogging if you just logged in on only one char and one instance. It could be a shared IP got flagged, but that's also unlikely.

We only have your side of the story; server logs will tell the other side.

The thing is I mule all the time. The launcher even states that's fine. So... idk?!

@laturne19: you've been tempbanned because two chars (Phoque-sy (*laturne19) and XxFrigidxBabexX (*Martok1990) ) from the same IP were in a game and they weren't (just) muling for sure.
Both chars got 12 warnings! (Possible multilog detected! Read /multilog command to avoid being banned.)
and if you use that command /multilog it tells you:

Multilogging is allowed only for muling purposes,
up to two accounts logged in.

To safely play if you share IP with more players:

Make sure that either all of you are playing (= killing
monsters = gaining exp) or all are AFK (= not killing
monsters = not gaining exp).

If only 1 of you needs to be AFK (= usually stay in town),
then he should quit the game and rejoin later.

You may still get the warning, but you won't get banned
if you follow this.

Usually first account ban is 8-24h, second 48-72h, third
is permanent.

@jsdeitch: you can mule without any problem, just follow those guidelines

There is a chance that his dad has median installed and playing without telling any one about it.

12 warnings oh...let's hope he is not going to repeat same mistake

p.s. what is the timer for first warning and each after? lets remind it to everyone so we can avoid that kind of problems.

Well I have noticed that if you mule in a game that you've been active in - the warning does appear. I find that if I leave the game, make a new game, and continue to mule - all is well. I have only noticed this recently.
