Set in a huge open world, Dragon’s Dogma: Dark Arisen presents a rewarding action combat experience. Players embark on an epic adventure in a rich, living world with three AI companions, known as Pawns. These partners fight independently, demonstrating prowess and ability that they have developed based on traits learned from each player. PC users can share these Pawns online and reap rewards of treasure, tips and strategy hints for taking down the terrifying enemies. Pawns can also be borrowed when specific skills are needed to complete various challenging quests.

One of the game that i immediately redeem once i stumbled upon a video after Nier Automata. To be honest, i dont want anymore depressing game back to back, but after installing many games at once, this the only i managed to playthrough until the end.

Playing the game now compared to 10 years ago probably will have difference considering there are many more different video games that done better. However, this game really have 1 unique mechanic that Im surprised no other game want to steal it. Ability to customize 1 main follower & hiring 2 more follower from people online alone enough to bring alot of fun especially some combat required some planning & setting up proper team. As a package, definitely this feel like excellent medieval fantasy with fun hack & slash combat.

However, one word to describe the game would be clunky. Not in the bad way, but because the game was made back in 2012 & have very ambitious design it kind fall flat in many aspect. I can overlook those issue, although i do feel like the game couldve achieved more if at least it have better mods support. I think my issue probably how difficulty / experience / reward as I ran out of stuff to do aside from grinding same stuff over and over again. The DLC addition are designed for you to complete the game again on hard difficult, which im not fond atm.

Probably you can skip this and wait for when Dragon's Dogma 2 come out. I couldnt stomach another 80 hours required to complete this game to 100%, since it required 2 new playthrough & grinding to level 200 (i finish at level 60)

Spiritfarer® is a cozy management game about dying. You play Stella, ferrymaster to the deceased, a Spiritfarer. Build a boat to explore the world, then befriend and care for spirits before finally releasing them into the afterlife. Farm, mine, fish, harvest, cook, and craft your way across mystical seas. Join the adventure as Daffodil the cat, in two-player cooperative play. Spend relaxing quality time with your spirit passengers, create lasting memories, and, ultimately, learn how to say goodbye to your cherished friends. What will you leave behind?

Death in video games is always been just a minor setback. What if you use videogame as platform to tell heavy subject matter stories like death & learning to let it go. This are questions that was asked by the developer who obssessed with death.

This game is what people considered as "art game" where it focus on visual, theme & soundtrack while not all people will able to enjoy it. Game is beautiful hand drawn just like 2 previous games from the developer, but on cozy / relaxing theme. Meeting all spirits combined with animal design which kinda represent each spirits personality, will bring you many emotionally engaging stories that crafted based on real person. Game also have unique take on resource gathering which combined with your ship building planning & platforming.

Playing this game made realized that Im unable to experience emotional stuff like many other people. For me, it need to be front loaded approach with music, cutscene, voices and i need to be in correct mindset. The game required you to take everything slow & read all conversations with all characters, which can feel annoying and made you want to skip the dialogue. Aside from couple of small gameplay moment, the game left with feeling that i wish the game are better designed from gameplay perspective.

Hard to say if you will able to experience emotional roller coaster like many other people. Im a person who emphasize on gameplay first, so the game made me grumpier on the road to 100% achievement. Perhaps if you willing to spend 30 hours ++ on this slow burner game, it will worth your time.

Curse of the Dead Gods is a roguelike and a dungeon crawler played from an isometric perspective. In the game, the player assumes control of an explorer who must navigate three different dungeons in search for money, power and eternal life.

One of the anticipated game that scratch my itch for rogue-like since I still cant afford hades yet. I aware it will be super challenging, although im not sure if my skill enough to carry me to win.

First thing i should mention is that this game probably have one the best level progression for a rogue-like. You will only do small amount of rooms in beginning, with goal to introduce with all mini-bosses. Then finally you will have to fight all 3 of each temples leader with optional 6 previous minibosses. Combat is methodical, rewarding your strategic decision as well as your ability to find good combination of weapons & relic. Additionally, you also can play around with curse effect, which give your reward but at cost making your run harder.

I really wish the game had more variety to be honest. The itemization is very boring and not deep like some other ARPG-ish weapon affixes. Since you rely on RNG, some run are just too hard for me as Im not skillful enough especially on hard mode. Combination of elite enemies & trap will make your run more miserable although I think my issue is just quite hard to get excited despite i really want to try win the game. Perhaps I shall uninstall since it is no longer enjoyable for me in the hard mode.

If you like challenging game, give this game a try. Definitely it required alot of more QoL improvements, but it is good as it is. Im not sure if I continue playing but I already need to move on to other games.

Managed to get a couple of days off work and focused on beating Diablo 4's campaign on my barbarian, and i must say this is the best Diablo since D2, and thats saying a lot. D2 is still my favorite arpg of all time and pretty much nothing will dethrone it, but D4 is pretty good. The endgame right now in season 0 is a bit lacking but im not going to be too hard on it before all the seasons come out.

The story is well put together, probably the only diablo game where the lore is actually interesting. Gameplay is pretty satisfying give or take a few instances (escort side quests and events, do not want those)

Yea i'd say it's a good game, i guess it depends on wether or not you feel like dropping full AAA price for an ARPG right now. IMO for this game, yes, but your mileage might vary.

Hand gesture simulator, ghost edition

Tokyo is overrun by deadly supernatural forces as a dangerous occultist causes the city's population to vanish in an instant. Join forces with a powerful spectral entity on their quest for vengeance and master a powerful arsenal of abilities to unravel the dark truth behind the disappearance as you FACE THE UNKNOWN in Ghostwire: Tokyo.

One of the game that I weirdly wanted to play despite I know it boring it will be for majority of people. Maybe that why I set my expectation super low and perhaps able to find hidden gems.

First impression of the game I got when started to play is how gorgeous the atmosphere of the game. Granted the game arent exactly most detailed yet it have charming nightlife full with neon lights. The combat is quite simple with ability to deal damage with multiple spells & tools, then purge the enemy once it weakness spot revealed. Combined with supernatural horror in some story mission, definitely it is fascinating game especially if you are person that fanatic anything about japan.

However the game is what I considered too stretched for an open world. If you rush the mission, maybe it just take like 15 hours with decent pacing & experience. However it tried to give alot of similar structure side quests (solving ghost problem, purge them, repeat etc). Combat doesnt feel rewarding because most of enemy are melee range, and you can dispose them easily as they get stuck to random obstacle. Despite ability to glide & travel vertically to above building, it still felt chore to travel around.

If you arent fan of japan urban or ghosts, i doubt you can enjoy this. Personally Im ok even with repetitive stuff, mostly because I was playing this while watching murder mystery anime. I still need to finish the extra roguelike mode for last 2 achievement though.
