Unpopular opinion but i didnt like RE4 because its one huge escort mission from nearly start of the game all the way til the end.

Playing Metro Exodus now.

PoE league ends on the 4th march btw, new one starts on the 8th. Dunno if you care or not but your character will be sent to Standard league when its over aka not Betrayal league. And since youre new why not do every quest, some give you stat points, others give you respec points.

Very close to finishing Fallout : Slav edition Metro Exodus, after that its Far Cry New Dawn until new PoE league starts.

And to everyone thinking about buying Anthem - its shit. No surprise there. Dont buy it.

At this point i just like to grasp the idea of this game. Because currently i have no clue how it works in general. So far i managed to survive and smash most of the stuff in my way, got some reward things - insert stones with skills on them. And i saw npc selling similar stuff too, plus this skill tree (more like forest lol) - i am guessing it will only gives stats and passives while i managed skills from those stones. Then again seen those stone get level ups while i smash stuff and no idea does it depend on x monsters kill, or it gets % from my own xp gained. I just figured out that socket colour and stone colour has to match and that i can remove then ez - genius playing huh... So naturally more sockets = better ? Is there way to replay the area you already passed - now it's empty when i go back ?
Also i had two encounters with green caravans and some npc told me to stop them - i failed one and win with other - reward was unlear some sort of this meme Image and i made some random choice.

dont play blind i guess.
following guide will help you discover stuff better for late game stuff.

just like median, going blind is sometimes fun, but because of sheer amount of late game stuff, i recommend to follow a guide.
find keyword like "SSF, shaper killer, solo, league starter"

Finished:

Fe, at the end, it didnt manage to end it with highest peak of WOW in the game, which is climbing up huge towering deer-god in act 2. The end basically became simple puzzle of platforming and trigger next unlock. Fun + short game regardless, too bad i dont have urge to do 100% run.

Seem like timestamp doesnt work, just go after 13th minute.

Yea at this point its just better for you to get a feel of the game. Some quest rewards are unique jewels that are build enablers, for instance theres one that converts all strength nodes in its radius into dex if you open a jewel socket in the middle of the nodes, another one gives you more projectiles if you use Molten Strike, so more dps since damage calculation is based on the amount of projectiles and splash damage (think its name is Wildfire, a must if you spec into Molten strike) ; as for the skill gems themselves they get xp from every kill, but you also have to be careful about not overleveling them if you have gear on affecting stats that youre planning on removing later on, like str/dex bug on D2. Yes , more sockets means you can add more support gems into a skill in it, support gems change the skill in some way, could be more projectiles, more aoe, could be spell echo that makes you cast an additional spell for the cost of one, etc. The higher the item's ilvl the more sockets it can get to max sockets as well as its affixes (just like diablo and i guess pretty much every arpg). Sockets can have white colour (universal colour) if you Vaal Orb them. Ofc Vaaling an item can brick that item into uselessness , or it can give it unique implicit Vaal mods. And if youre wondering about the Corrupted mod you can see on some items it just means you cant change it in any way, cant link sockets cant change socket colours , cant reroll it.

You can go back using the waypoints at towns or at areas, theres act tabs above the map, so you can go back anytime you want. Also, if you want to reset an area to keep farming it instead of waiting out the timer hold CTRL and click the area or the entrance to that area and click on New.

Those encounters are part of the Betrayal league, it doesnt really matter much if you fail or not since the league is ending so dont mind much if you fail it, though it could be good xp if you kill the lieutenants ofc. You defeat a lieutenant, you can interrogate to fill the bar under another lieutenant's hideout, or you can execute him to clear him off the board completely or bargain with him or make him betray another lieutenant to make them rivals, so next time they ambush you together they wont be as OP because rivalries...stuff like that. This gimmick will be core in the next league though so its not like it'll disappear forever.

Thanks :) i am currently progressing as ground slam ? dual wield melee noob - play style similar to treewarden. Area dmg + fire conversion + ignite proc. Got 2 uniques already - crown of something circlet (self damage crap) and two sweet rings. Tried some crafting, some orbing - all making sense in slow testing. Those betray encounters are my main xp and loot source for now. Sad part in this aoe fight everything does something - screen looks like one big colission of procs. But i stay alive and that is all that matters.

Yea it can look like everyone's setting off fireworks during new years eve, especially when procs are involved. And even more so at endgame where its not unusual for fps to come to a crawl if theres a whole lot of stuff happening at once. Ground slam is a pretty good starter, later one you can get Sunder which is what i always take as melee marauder until lvls 30'ish when i start building around the main skill that i really want. But Sunder is pretty good on its own, especially if you link Multistrike and Ancestral Call on it.

And lul yea, Crown of Thorns used to be pretty decent if you wanted to spec a witch without having to get Pain Attunement node and going Chaos Innoculation. But that was years ago before the skill tree was revamped.

One thing that i usually do when i start a league is go all the way through story mode up to Blood Aqueduct on Act 9 and farm my way to 68-70 there and hoping to get Humility card drops. It only drops in Aqueduct tileset maps, so blood aqueduct and channel maps. 9 Humility :

Probably the most expensive item during early leagues because it allows you to breeze through early leveling with it. Hell on one character i went from lvl 2 to lvl 81 with it...then Belly of the Beast dropped.

Ok, now i did not understand a lot of what you said, but i am starting to grasp the whole concept slowly. One serious question that i did not find answer yet is about socketing other items. I use ground slam in weapon with 3 sockets (all linked in a line) and i use two support gems in it. Both work since skill icon gets those two small square notifications. Now i want to make that skill even better - how i socket other gears to do so ? I believe if i put other skill in other piece and support it - only that skill gets bonus, not my ground slam ? If i put second ground slam in other piece - i get two ground slam skills with different supports ?
Do you use/recommend any loot filter ? Will it make 'no pick' work like in median ?

When you put more support gems, you have to consider several things.
1. Mana cost increase with more support generally
2. Some support only work with specific skill gems (check the tag like spell, attack, ranged, projectile etc)
3. Multiple gems can share support gems. (2 skill gems + 2 support with 4 linked gear can work, assuming correct tag)
4. Some support also have damage modifier, while bigger area is good for farming (with reduced dmg %), generally u want more damage modifier vs boss.

Try to get any loot filter from the forum, preferable the one that designed for leveling (some high end game farmer will remove those cheap scroll of identifier drop)

And btw, consult your map + quest tab a lot. It help kinda explain what you need to do and where you should go. You need to click on specific quest and the page will show line for direction you need to go. Additionally, if the map have small dot, that mean it have waypoint you havent discovered.
