Serious Sam's Bogus Detour

Not bad, only health "drops" are little bit weird, bunch on one place and then nothing for a while.

Saves, well checkpoint system isn't bad, it would be nice if there is a save for each mission once you enter that mission of course.

Due to some bug, I guess, I was able to skip one mission, sure I can replay it but then I have some basic weapons then.

Anyway, I like all serious sam games, perfect, can't wait for planet badass.

Dungeon siege 2 Legendary mod.

Dungeon siege was always nice for me, otherwise I wouldn't play it, legendary mod improves the textures which is great, and "converts" dungeon siege 1 maps so they can be playable in DS2 engine, only UI can be a little bit messed up at some high resolutions, some mod exist for that too.

Finished Dead Island DLC Ryder Campaign which I got for free from some random discord channel.
To be honest, I forgot all story about this game when I finished it long time with pirated copy, so I just straight jump to DLC as it is content that I never tried. I think I like the gameplay slightly here as they give you pretty much all of the ranged weapon (dead island is mostly melee oriented even for gun specialist character...) so kinda neat to play gritty "realistic" zombie FPS.

To my surprised, apparently I have been playing from villain side from main game all along, make it kinda full cycle about the story from both side. That kinda explained why this man did what he did to the main characters in the main game. Too bad DLC was short, only 2 1/2 hours of gun blazing.

Now with steam spring cleaning, there are a lot of installing / replaying old games for sake to collect full badges, I still dont have game that I really wanted to rush to an end (aside from reaching level 65 in poe's flashback league which I already completed). I really hope I can afford new graphic cards in next 3 months either the 10 series or the next generation, depending on price.

Mean while, gonna buy another two bundles from fanatical and hoping for another good sales in mid june from steam (summer sales). I really hope there are couple more 75% discount AAA title I can afford by then. Humble and steam have been kind giving out couple of free games too.

5 games cleared from my steam backlog:

1. Stories : Path of Destinies

I got this one for free, and I enjoyed the art and story telling of the game. Basically it combined between action hack n slash and choose your adventure where there are tons multiple ending. Each playthrough will unlocked more truth (assuming you follow until specific ending) that will help to guide you toward true ending.

Each playthrough is quite short, with 5 levels each and 4 choices in between. As for brawling aspect, it not that depth and it feel fluid enough just like other combat game like Arkham series. You pretty much can master it easily after 1 or 2 playthrough. However if you expert with combat game with tighter control, then this game will be too easy for you.

Overall, I highly recommend this if you managed to get it for free. Just take note that the game required super high spec and it look gorgeous with sleek looking art. I finished the game without uncover all endings though as it might required about 10 more hours.

Other recommendation:
a. Hand of Fate : Other than similar style, this one is focused on deck building + random encounter instead. Combat a bit more meh here though.
b. Bastion : Similar style of story telling with cheeky narrator, this one have more customization on weapon and you can make harder encounter.

2. Sniper Ghost Warrior 2

This game is not the best in its category but just barely average for "hardcore" in term for sniper weapon. If you play on hardest difficulty, you have to properly judge the distance and wind to hit your targets (remember modern warfare sniping level? times 50 in story mode)

For story campaign, the game is quite linear and small with various different background, such as jungles, desert and rubble of destroyed cities. Most of the times you will move with your spotter which will give you suggestions on what to do on specific encounter.

Overall, game is fun + short experience for linear games. I think this one is kinda average, but so play it if you think you can enjoy the game. Just take note there are issue with sound in act 2, which lasted for 1 whole level.

Other recommendation:
a. Sniper Elite : I havent play them, but judging from video online it seem a better sniper with xray kill cam.
b. Crysis : Specifically number 3, which have powerful crossbow that required you to play stealth on hardest difficulty.

3. Dungeon of the Endless

Ok, this is the game that not my cup of tea. It is rogue-like game that combined multiple genre like resource management, tower defense and real-time battle. The game have hybrid system between turn based, which is time inbetween you opening a room and real time combat where you need to manage your team skill and positioning.

Another factor i dislike is the depth / knowledge you required to know for gears in the game and the super low pixel art feel like cheap, although the environment look pretty neat. As you master the basic mechanic, then the game become progressively harder and harder as the resource become more scarce and enemy become more tougher.

Overall, I dislike the game and I finished the game with too easy difficulty. There are tons of character to unlock and if you willing to spend time, you could probably handle the tougher challenges.

Other recommendation:
a. FTL : Rogue-lite about ship management, which focused mostly on big decision rather than micro-managing team
b. Invisible inc : Turn based stealth game that focused on spy theme and gadget. Have similar encounter, team base and resource management

4. Tower of Guns

Another roguelite shooter that focus mostly on dodging bullet while improving your gear depending on your luck in the playthrough. Each levels have its own theme with it own set of random bosses.

Again, I dislike roguelite/like so much because it required repetition of dying over and over until you unlock some sort of perk or weapon that can hopefully make you more successful on the next rune. I postponed this game for a while until I installed it because I run out of shooter game after completing doom.

Overall, I dislike it because of the genre but I do recommend it if you like this kind of games. I have to die like 5 times until it gave me easy mode, but then it is still not enough to beat certain tough boss until i watch video on tips / tricks to beat this game.

Other recommendation:
a. Ziggurat : A slightly more excellent rogue lite shooter that focused on magic, different weapons and upgrades
b. Nuclear Throne : This one is 2d top view instead of first person shooter, quite difficult and very fast paced (i never completed it... yet)

5. Forward to the Sky

Ok, I admit that sometimes I bought a games solely based from a storefront picture. This one is one of the reason I got a bundle that contain this game. As you can tell from the youtube video, this game is super short and quite easy to 100% it. It took me about 1 hour and half to beat it.

Game are super basic third person platformer in 6 short levels, which have gimmick in each level, and various of enemies encounter that you have to beat with your limited combo attack. Sprinkle a bit of cuteness voice acting and drawing, you get this game.

Overall, I cant recommend it as it is too short and maybe only worth only 1 dollar or less. The game quality feel cheap and unpolished. At least to me, it much more better than hundreds other trash games on steam though.

Other recommendation:
a. Gurumin A Monstrous Adventure : Similar type of game and have bigger content and world, one of the first bundle i bought because of the poster.
b. Fez : Again, not exactly the same but it have similar puzzle platformer with a bit collect-a-thon. Mind bending 2d games.

I promised myself to not buy any new games until Steam Summer Sales in june, but instead I bought 1 bundle from fanatical (for technomancer) and 2 games on steam that I already completed last time via pirate version..... Anyway, I replaying borderlands 2 and having a blast playing it (it is a pun, im using that psycho character) and probably plan to tackle the extra content that I didnt play last time (all headhunter, but not sure about that craw something boss for playing solo)

Lazy to do full review atm, here couple of games i played for last week:

Finished:
1. Lords of the Fallen
One of the game I bought directly on steam with GOTY edition since it quite cheap in my region. Not gonna lie that this one was one of the game I anticipated to play for a while. I aware of negative review on the games, especially the bugs during the release. But so far I only encounter couple of bugs, and only 1 that required me to restart the game.

Gameplay wise, it is not perfect. I mean, I already played several mediocre action games, but this one did replicate experience similar to when you play with souls series. I went in with ranger build which is rogue on weapon setup, AGI based, and cleric skill set which focused on defensive. I mainly used staff and sometimes used dagger or claws.

My problem with games was more toward limited customization on spell part, you have only 3 major skill tree that all feel pretty bland. I admit, I do enjoy the gameplay with tons of weapons and changing stance between shield, gauntlet and dual wield. And to my surprised, that default keybind work flawlessly and play nicer on PC, compared to Dark Souls on PC.

However, despite variety on enemies and bosses encounter, I feel like the AI and hitbox collision is lack luster. In endgame, playing AGI build is quite hard to a point I just roflstomped all the boss with heavy gear set instead, as the defense reduced the damage so much. Boss pattern is way too easy to read, they doesnt used variety attack pattern, which is a huge disappointed experience for me.

Overall, I could give the game high score for atmosphere, graphic and variety of weapons & stance combination, but lackluster boss and spell kinda downfall of the game. I dont feel I could push forward with the DLC or multiple playthrough, as the game is quite small and no replayability.

Playing :
1. Deus Ex Human Revolution:
Tbh, I already finished pirated copy of this which mainly with ghost playstyle. This one I go with rambo, although generally I try sneak around while trying to find best spot to lure + chokepoint the enemies.

2. Sleeping Dogs :
OMFG, this game is nice with atmosphere and fighting style. Definitely not that great as this game is quite old, but with customization on outfit that gave various bonus, missions around playing good cop or bad gang member, penalty for wrecking chaos in town, and ability to parkour, kinda remind me of hybrid between GTA and Assassin Creed series.

3. Stoneshard : Prologue
To whoever like rogue-like game, I recommend you this. The game look slick with the graphic and gameplay is simply and yet quite challenging. There are a lot of parameter you have to be careful of when playing this game like hunger, thirst and your body fatigue.

4. Borderlands 2:
Sweet game that I replaying for third time, this time Im targeting to finish first playthrough with all quest in all DLC bought with GOTY, then afterthat I will decide either I wanted to buy headhunter or not, as I know it was kinda designed with coop gameplay.

5. Getting Over It :
Rage / Meme game. This is super frustrating to a point that I think Im gonna hate the game for terrible control. I mean, I dont mind hard game that required skill, but with the sledgehammer flailing like crazy and possibility for failing your whole progress, I dont know if I will finish this.

6. Fidel Dungeon Rescue
Simple rogue-lite game that is more a puzzle than and RPG, the games is simple enough, but super hard as it didnt tell you much the mechanic, so you pretty much have to try and error, and hopefully able to finish the short 12 levels. I was so close to reach the end, which is only level 15.

There are about 3 weeks before steam summer sales, I hope I cleared all the big games I installed atm, so I can prefer for several new AAA games with next purchase.
