Regardless of whether or not you like ssf, it exists as a proof of concept that a lot of the content can be cleared without trading for absurdly rare chase items. We have plenty of players who regularly beat most of the content ssf. I personally would like to see the amount of guides for builds that are ssf viable increase, as I think there's a really big misconception about tg being a requirement to play the game. TG exists to use carry-over success to bypass gearing walls. Where tg really becomes unhealthy is when whales can simply outbid newer players for items, or bulk buy things for corruptions. I dislike auctions for that reason.

There are some valid points in this thread about the downsides, and I personally would be interested in the option to participate in a fresh start league, however tg is a really hard thing to walk back in a way that's fair to all of the people who bought some to support the mod or had a few really successful patches and made bank.

the "ty" thing in the trade section pisses me off too, but in my few years of playing I haven't really had any issues with finding out relative value on items (save for that time sky murder was brand new and I way over-paid for the first one on the realm  ) theres also a big discord community who can help identify if someone's trying to price gouge, if you cba to actually learn what items are worth. That skill takes a while.

Hopefully we can implement a better solution to the current trading system some day, but for now you kinda have to interact with the community if you need help with making tg/or you're playing builds that cant farm fast enough without buying an item.

(Necromancer Only)
Required Level: 100
Required Strength: 535
Item Level: 120
Strength Damage Bonus: (0.16 per Strength)%
Pestilence: duration reduced by 50%
Pestilence: regenerates 4% of Maximum Life per Second
25% Chance to cast level 50 Veil King Plague Grasp on Melee Attack
200% Bonus to Attack Rating
+100% to Poison Spell Damage
+60 to Stormlord
Slow Target 25%
+200 Life after each Kill
2% Reanimate as: Veil Terror

Pestilence orange text doesn't work. I think this item misses - 50 poison pierce as well , because is very hard to hit enough pierce with rest of the items without shield/weapon. Also is there any change to add the missing stats from SL skill like Arrogance? For level 60 SL gives you only 80 stats. Another thing is that we don't have proper skill to use with this sword. There's nothing in melee tree skills with poison just Angel of death which is crap.

That would be accurate for SL on Arrogance. It doesn't get the hard skill synergy.

Sorry if it's been said, but I've looked and couldn't find anything. Is there any news on when ladder will reset again?

this statement is confusing to me. my first thought is if gearing walls exist after success (whatever the definition of this is) then surely they existed prior to success? if you've been playing ssf and found success then couldn't you just use the items you've accumulated?

i play ssfhc & ssfsc and most of it is viable, but there are clear gearing walls that feel extra grindy to break through or sometimes unclear what is needed. it FEELS like resistance, something working against you. this also makes it feel like the game (drops, rarity, etc.) is balanced around TG. whether it is working against you or is balanced around TG or not i'm not sure, but that is a feeling that i personally have.

when i say "bypass gearing walls" I mean "bypass them immediately".
things are less balanced around tg than ever these days. As the team works on buffing old/outdated skills/items/builds, more ssf-viable guides and more content come out- buying crazy rare/expensive items will become less mandatory (unless you're trying to do something like deimoss 100, but at that point, you're already in uber minmax land anyway)
Certain parts of "the grind" can most definitely be a slog and I can tell you that's something we're aware of.
Hopefully 2.11 is your cup of tea

have you tested it? it is extremely likely that it got the buff but just has the old tooltip still - most oskills with different requirements to the original have a different skills.txt line and skilldesc (to have the different requirements) but will use the same missiles (which most of the time is what actually controls the damage)

thinking specifically of harbinger on samsword here, which got the missile change when wolf druid's harbinger was changed to high WDM cold damage, but still said it had tiny WDM and magic damage for years
