Blood Skeleton Spell for Necro

Hello All,

New player here, just tried out Medial XL this past week and am enjoying gameplay.

My question is when I try and cast the Blood Skeleton spell on a dead enemy, all I get is something of an explosion. I thought it was suppose to raise a skeleton minion or am I misunderstanding the spell effects?

Have you put a point in melee mastery by any chance?It disables summoning/ranged/spells
