What's a good build that you guys recommend to new players starting out on this mod?

I want something fun and viable that isn't too difficult at medium-later stages of the game.

. all easy to get. any of these will work. 150 flat dr, 90 max cold/light/fire res, and some absorb.


Ok. Ill give shadowmoon a shot. I already have the upgraded charm, so thats covered. Although i dont see with the way my gear is setup that ill be able to get to 90 resists.

Ive had a lot of luck with holy melee paladin. You can start from scratch and work your way up just fine. Theres a great guide for it in the guides section listed as holy melee if you want to check it out.

Ok, but which shrines to use? I already dropped some but it always gave me weird affixes. Also k3k on dest? I've bloodmage merc, he does his job as you mentioned.

Sorry for so many questions but it's my first char ever on this mod ._.

Def is too low. Get runemaster ubersckill and socket runes in your gear (any will do the work for first time, then slowly replace them depends on your needs). I had around 500k def without bear stance/spirit guide. Shrines... i think for first time you can use any shrines (preferably intimidating for DS or creepy for STR + CB), just get good damage (around 300-400 max dmg for high quality sword). If you want rw in weapon (you forced to use it 'cause you won't get decent craft for first tries) - use

instead. It will give you life leech itself (believe me - it's really helpful in crowded places after iron spiral rework). Attack rating is not bad BTW.

on summoner necro and haven't seen any novas while they're shooting out of monsters killed by any other source came from myself (including funeral pyre/Boneyard)


Staff of shadows uses procs almost same as creep staff used to, so those novas should spark out of player position. There are other things like that SU Druid Bow with Slayer Bolt on striking that procs directly from monster position, immediately hitting th monster, so you never actually see the projectile, while stuff from

Sure Great sword is better (IMO). Replace all with Jah runes once you'll get them (you already can get some by downgrading).
