I see no set bonus at all when I equipped 2 set pieces to my mer.

Mercs do not benefit from set bonus as far as I am aware.
They still benefit before sigma , so it was removed. Sad thing. I see no reason why!
Also, they removed Demon Blood aura on everyone (except main char and necro minion - mers, other summon and reanimate won't have), that suck, too.

I may be wrong, I didnt recall them gaining from set bonuses before.

I may be wrong, I didnt recall them gaining from set bonuses before.
I am 100% sure they do, I often used 2 pieces from the unholy melee Paladin set to give my mers a nice Flamestrike proc.
There was only 1 full set that mer could equip, though - so most of the time - the bonus from 2-4 pieces is pretty underwhelming.
