Whats better for casters. Have +100% elemental damage boost. Or have -100% resist pierce( assuming monster isnt immune for this damahe type)?
I mean overal. Does +500%dmg/-50 resists comparable to +450%dmg/-100%resist??
Havent found any formulas for now..

There's a chart somewhere that shows a graph for %spell damage. -100% is useful more likely once you have a decent amount of spell damage.

the -100% enemy resist basically makes sure you're dealing full damage if the monster happens to have resistances to your damage type. Versus heroics, going from -100% to -199% drastically increases DPS in comparison to getting more spell damage.

Dunno the best way to put this into words, honestly.

If a monster has 0 resistances, and you have 0% pierce, you will do the listed damage.
If a monster has 0 resistances, and you have -100% pierce, you will do double the listed damage (in theory).
If a monster has 95% resistances (I think immune is 100% +? I could be wrong on that number), and you have -100% pierce, you will deal the listed damage + 5% (in theory).

Hopefully you can see how this works towards heroic shields and general gameplay.

it is in most circumstances useless, i usually opt for adding more stats if i am in a position with much unused orb space.
Stats usually add directly to all your dmg, while a thunderhammer has not even a guarantee to hit

From maths only,
100% ele dmg = -100 enemy res (double dmg)
But since 200% ele dmg does not mean quadruple dmg, you should get 100% ele dmg / -100% resist first then build more ele dmg.

But yeah, having more than 200% ele dmg without -100 res is unacceptable, you're losing so much dmg.

And 500% dmg/ -50 res deals only 81% of the dmg you would deal with 450% / -100 res.

Ok. Got it.
And what about my resistances. I have 80% all res for now. Should i stack more resists on me(i mean does mobs have pierce)??
These krakens in triune oneshot me.i even cant reach them. Do they pierce?

Triune krakens dont pierce resists as far as I am aware, but you need around 90+ resists to tank them ( 95 resists makes them trivial).

Some mobs have pierce and its usually 250(or 350? I dont remember, its in the docs in Tal Rasha uber description) pierce, the ones I can think off the top of my head are:

Tal rasha and mages.
Quov tsin.
Assur.
Kabraxis elementals.
Some a3 jungle mob (deals no dmg anyways).
Unformed land elementals.
Poison maggots/snakes in wretched hive.

What exactly does that mean?

With 195 res on dest I have 95 res to something. So if I get another 250 I have effectively 95 res? I often don't care about that that much and they barely deal dmg, maybe they just have 100 pierce?

A few mobs have pierce. Krakens have 100 cold pierce and deal 8-576 cold damage with their beam. It hits many times though; with 95% cold resist (295% stacked, to compensate for 100 pierce and -100 dest penalty) you should have no problem surviving.
