Skill of choice doesn't have to to be cold-based itself at all. It's all about the amount of hits each use does and the WDM each hit carries + skill geometry and secondary mechanics.

is the best. The shield is absolute garbage though, I hated being forced to use it. But for some reason Carnage from relic can only be used with Scythes / Daggers. (balancing reasons, I guess?)

I tried most melee skills that were available from crafts at the time, Gorefest wasn't bad. Ended up buying Cotw Stormblast which was pretty good against stationary targets with big hitbox (was hitting the big bosses more times this way), but it was worse than Carnage against moving/teleporting bosses like Samael.

You can easily get Divine Judgement from a relic now, I believe it should work pretty well for Azure build if it is currently useable with swords (which I believe it is).

Just what is the optimal base for honorific boots? T1 slippers? Sacred greaves?

You can bless sacred honorifics once with Quite shrine, it beats the difference.
You just reroll the base for 35-40% MS and bless it. If blessing lowrolls, redo untill you get 8% Vita + decent flat.
I was buying hundreds of marks of infusion and farming them myself for my Psionic shenanigans this season, same idea - just Moon Crystals instead of Periapts.

Boots have mediocre base defense. But consider this:

With honorific sacred boots, you have four sockets for perfect rubies (+20% vita), while just one ruby in t1 honorific will raise its level requirement to 18, for just 5% vita.
You can't bless t1 honorific with quiet shrine either, and that adds up to 8% vita and up to 20 flat vita.

I guess I answered my own question. Sacred greaves all the way.

Boot base depends on the specific character and gear setup. Depends on how much str you have when min-maxed. Greaves have highest str req and you're going to use 2 Sigils of Absolutions on them (+50% req). For UHM pala wearing 2 highroll Emp Glories that's ok (because Stormlord), for other characters might be too hard to wear them. It's safest to craft simple sacred Boots (lowest str req).

didn't know this, I assumed getting 4 socks was available on all tiers :)

Thanks, I noticed.

Str requirement shouldn't be a problem. I don't see who else could use Azure effectively, apart from uhm and barb, and neither is supposed to have problems with reaching ~900 str with charms, 2x emps and Stormlord/Mountain King.

About necro 's metal GOLEM:
Does every stats of the item we use to make the golem is used? including base damage or defense?
So should we mo , upgrade and socket the metal item before summoning?
Does stats like str/vita/dex are usefull ? or only life?
Any suggestions of items?
Maybe runewords with aura?

I cannot open the items/inventory of my character on the offline tool. When I click show items, the cursor turns into a loading wheel for awhile and then closes the offline tool window. Any fix for this one?

For me it happens only when a new patch came, and the offline tool hasn't got the upgrade yet. You have the last version ? If you have an item with the latest patch (like scroll of enchantement), this can make a trouble. I had the same issue after the patch, but after the upgrade of the offline tool, I just downloaded the latest version at it worked very well.

how do diminishing returns work for energy? does gradually tapper off once energy reaches 2k or is it a flat out nerf to anything over 2k? Just trying to get an idea of how much energy I should be aiming for as a spell caster. also is the cap for spell focus still 1k?

Generally speaking we are looking for stats the best compliment our character build. Bowazon for example has a lot of multi hitting abilities so we need very little deadly strike as our dps will improve dramatically if even only a few wyrm darts crit. There also comes a point where we have enough consistent dmg to survive and once we start stacking deadly strike it starts to act as a short cut to more dps.
