Whats the most tanky (or safest) char build?

This question is difficult to answer. Endgame, a dex-based sin with pretty low hp and def is one of the tankiest chars in the game with 75% block and like 70% avoid. Look at the same sin early game, when you have low block, and low avoid, and you will cry. Now look at a barb. It is insanely tanky at early game, thanks to the tons of def it gains from passives, can get really decent amounts of life (and phys reisst) with small investments, but lategame, defense definetly falls off a bit, and has no block or avoid. Do note that with throw barb, you can reach decent block chance, but throw barbs are not that popular.

I don't see how having 1mil defense and 50% dr from skill is not good defense in the endgame.
You can also get block too, defense will be 500-600k then, which is still plenty of early-mid game and then top it with max block.
Way more health then sin too.

Sin can get 70% dodge only with very specific su, normally 65 is their cap. It is super tanky with prismatic cloak for sure, but I wouldn't say it is ahead of high hp barb with good defense and block.

I think if you look at what build provides best toughness through all stages of gearing, barb wins.

Well, barb uses wolf stance now pretty much, so free 50% dr is no more. But anyways i think sin is tankier with endgame gear and charms than barb, but yeah, at most stages of the game barb will be tougher for sure.

You can still build with bear stance if you want get even tankier.
I think barb has better potential even towards the end, if you really go all stats and pump vit, get that 50-60k health with max block, this is tankier than sin.

i'm not sure if you are either drunk or high . but saying that an assassin is tankyer than a barb is the funniest thing i've heared in the past few days

you have clearly never played a barb with max block and avoid , 50%DR and a shitload of defense .

Why bar tank 1,5 mil def cant kill edyrem, nec tank 600k def can do it

Edyerms have high attack rating i think. But if you have necro without block and less def than barb, nec should be even squishier against them.
