Mercenary weapons

Just trying to find out exactly what weapons mercenaries are supposed to use. The act two merc for example. When given a spear his damage goes down, wtf? I dont seem to be able to find polearms that arent scythes so idk what they are supposed to use.

They can use all spears, javelins are also spears, and besides rangers (not yet updated) you can see other mercs here https://translate.google.com/translate? ... rev=search

If they can use spears then why does his damage go down with every single spear I try to give him?

I don't know, but i did just check one that i had with whatever rare stuff i found and it goes up.

I've actually experienced something similar to this, but I'm pretty sure it's a bug. It's only really noticable when a nonmagical tier 1 weapon is equipped, but the damage displayed on the merc page is reduced by several points.

It's pretty hard to tell whether it's just a display bug or an actual nerf in damage.
