That would be the case with end game duels. My char has a perfect charm set with godlike gear on the relam. I have yet to be killed by someone

thats how pvp has always worked on non-pvp based patches not everyones gonna have perfect gear and charms etc

maybe two different people should give the same type of character the same items (different stats on same item is okay), the same charms (different stats on same charm is okay), and confirm exactly what attack skills are allowed in duel (so each can customize other skills as long as they are not directly used in damage attack). That way the duel should mostly come down to actual playing skill and knowledge of the best passive skill combinations. Of course you'd repeat more than once maybe best out of 7

Ha it would be fun to see videos of some of the elite players doing something like this using average su level gear.

or maybe set up some type of tournament for a specific build/item set. I think it would be fun to see for example

bow druid vs. bow druid - only using ghost arrow
zon vs. zon - only using fire arrow or that machine gun javelin skill
xbow nec vs. xbow nec - only flame tail shot and buckshot
holydin vs holydin (no vessel attack allowed)

something to pass the time until next patch.. :cheese:

PvP was a fail in clod no matter the rules. On MXL... don't even bother.
Sorry to be cynical bastard but that's just the way it goes, this is purely PvM game.

Well, here's another thing to consider for pvp balance;

Technically, as all players are capable of gaining all of the same items, skills, stats, and affixes, it's all fair. I can promise that any sort of god level player could still be beaten by some sort of build. The problem lies in the damage/ defense ratio. Basically most endgame builds will 1 shot another. Is it a drawback? yeah. But consider, not every build in D2 lod was used for pvp. Quite the contrary, it had very few pvp worthy builds. And this does NOT mean fights lasted longer. 1 pala hammer? dead. 1 FoH? dead. 1 lightning blast? dead. One Blizzard? dead. But that doesnt mean it wasnt really good fun. I loved pvp, and it kept me on closed battlenet for years.
