Congrats, you made the least fun encounter Ive ever experienced in gaming

Triune isnt hard. Its taxing and tedious. There isnt a strat to it that makes you feel triumph or victory. You are barely in control at all. You pretty much just have to get lucky and waste hours of your time not actually playing, but praying.

I dont know who made the fight, or thought "you know what would be fun? Lets make a boss fight where you are always at 1 HP no matter what, infinite spawns, no ability to hurt the boss, and have the players do it hundreds of times. OOO and lets make it feel like an escort quest had a baby with a fucked up mario maker level, and again make sure its not even a skill thing. People are gonna love it."

Who fucking hurt you? Why do you think fun is bad? Im all for challenges, so before you edgelords do the "git gud" shit... Im just wondering if the game has any intention of making this encounter slightly fun. At all.

Median has been a great game and achievement, but this fight is novice level design at best. It feels like a caffeinated 9 year old made a starcraft map that was impossible to beat him at and then makes you play it for hours. Just stupid.

tldr; it does come down to git gud, triune takes under 10 minutes once you know what you're doing.

On a more serious note, if you cant figure out how to do it, then you are just "fucking" bad. You dont need to be a rocket scientist to realise that you have to dodge the bolts so that "you are not always 1 hp", and charm Lucion so Malic damages it. On my first ever try in 1.2 i did the fight in 10mins, now i can do in less than 5.

Maybe some tips on recommended character stats might help? I never noticed bolts that could be dodged, and struggled quite a bit with this at 125. 1 HP, teleported ten times, slain. Took at least an hour, but maybe midgame gear isn't enough (when I attempted it).

Triune is the easiest version of this kind of fight. Try the Void final battle. It is WAY harder in every department. Ask questions about concepts, weaknesses, strategies and you will get it eventually. Be more specific.

Learn the gimmicks of the fight, deal with failures like a man and learn from your mistake. Don’t expect to win everything on the first try, this is not a AAA game holding your hand. Or just go back to Starcraft whining like a spoiled child.

What do you mean you never noticed bolts that could be dodged? Malic spams it when there are enemies near him (aka you, your summons, charmed lucion, etc). It reduces you to 1hp, and kills you if you get hit at 1 hp. The teleport is nothing but a minor inconvenience. You dont need any gear for it, you can do it naked if you want, all you need is to dodge the bolts and charm Lucion (and kill the bats).

It's just one of the special ubers that have a unique mechanic instead of walk in and blast the boss til dead.

Once you figure it out, you'll probably kick yourself and/or delete the post. The description on the book you drop from Durram (the boss at the top cathedral area of the map) has been drastically improved over the last few patches. Otherwise, it's an AI control fight between Lucion (mephisto) and Malic (nihlathak guy).

I can possibly show you some time this weekend or ask me in PM and I can try to explain it so it makes sense.

First off, thank you to whoever deleted that crappy troll post. No need for such blatant trash talk. Second, Triune does have a bit of luck to it but once you do it enough times you'll really get the hang of it and finish it in 20 minutes or less. I was able to do it with an Edyrem Summon barb pretty quick. Not sure what build you're using but some builds and low-mid tier gear can make it a tougher, longer fight.

Kek triune, that uber we all thought was BS when we first did it and took us well over an hour; and then a few months later we finish a 5min run and realize how mistaken we were. Good that its still making people post these kind of threads even after it received 100 nerfs.

Triune is basically the definition of a mechanical fight, your gear and build will have very little effect other than how annoying is it to clear bats. The rest is just how good you're at the fight.

Anyways, theres not much to say other than keep practicing, get them both fightning so lucion takes a lot of dmg, get used to how lucion's AI works (example, when you charm him he will still follow you until he reaches you, then he realizes he has been charmed and will attack enemies) and how to properly dodge bolts (like, don't try to squeeze in between, if on realm that will never work properly), once you get the basics done the fight will take 10min on a good run and 15-20 with very bad RNG; and when you're really good at it you will finish it in 5-10min.

I admit I had no idea what I was doing with Triune either, but I think overall the fight wasn't that difficult. I watched a few videos on youtube and it seems like you just charm Lucion and then try and bait bolts from Malic toward you, I just moved left and right. Sometimes the bolts would hit him and sometimes they would miss. I was on an unholy pally so I had excellent regen, but I just kept at it even after dying a few times. Eventually the boss went down. If there's a faster video than the ones I've seen I'd like to get better at it, or some more tips but it's just a mechanic fight imo.

I dislike farming for cycles more - they seem quite rare and farming for them doesn't seem very fun.
