80% max res is a lofty goal by a4 Nightmare (nearly impossible in a4 norm), and it will not allow you to RMB facetank this fight.

I don't think it's fair to assume players have found/farmed enough perfect bloodstones and +max res gear by this point either. Yes it's possible, we all know that, but it's not realistic...

idk, i just killed him last night on nm at lvl 96 ish with about 72 fire res and not even full sockets and just holding rmb carnage so..

Just turn your notifier on for the gems you need. you can have full sockets by the end of normal.

I don’t usually have this problem because I farm for Arcane crystals on Mephisto. Enemies frequently drop pfems at this point. Going through without stopping, untwinked, you just don’t have max res yet.

even without re-running, I just set a notifier for the res gems and cube them up from normal to flawless to perfect as I uptier and level up. Should be no major issues, not to mention gear with resist, etc.

you don't need 80 max res in normal. you don't even need 60 for most things.

I had 60. With 1.8k life, I lasted between 0.5 and 1 second in his lightning inferno. Enough for reaction time, it depends if he follows with a fire nova.

Oh, Diablo became so much more difficult? Sorry, I haven't noticed.

Does Diablo have Fire Pierce in normal, nightmare or Hell? I ask because the hardest part I think is the Fire Nova skill that knocks back and thus, hits multiple times for truckloads of damage.

TBH, i dont think that it's too hard to fight Diablo at normal and nightmare. Although i needed 30 mins at the first time to beat Diablo at hell mode but the feeling was great though hehe :mrgreen:

Mephisto hits harder for me, since he has mythal and invisible summons
Just don't get hit by flamestrike, that's the lethal attack
