Just wondering if anybody is currently working on a guide for Malice Necro this patch? If not, I would be happy to take it on since it's my starting character.

Hard to write a guide for a build nobody was playing before this morning. If anybody is going to, it's going to be a while.

current early game reanimator hybrid setup

max boneyard , nightwalker , dream eater , embalming , death pact , death ward . no points in other trees . i'm considering the blood skeletons for their aura but they are not necessary yet. they will die like flees later on due to no minion dedicated gear , so i think i'll skip them

boneyard main attack , dream eater to heal . 2 buttons build

gear : using t2
Quov Tsin's Fall
(will update to t3 a bit later - won't go for t4 due to requirements until later ) , honorific t4 armor mo'ed with 20% physical/magical spell, t3

Im going to start a WIP guide on this... I basically went the same route you did except for no reainmates. Just went for pure phys damage. Honestly it works great. Had ZERO problems so far and just stepped into Hell mode.

I will add different playstyles... I still want to test a mainly poison spec. I think the Malice Set will be the key to phys/psn hybrid.

I wasnt a fan of dream eater at first but now with no cooldown (happens at clvl 90), I'm really enjoying it.

I can't say I have had zero problems but through dot-run with the skill and staying back it is a lot easier. Definitely a play style to learn, also knowing which situations you can face-tank and which you need to kite is important.

My gear from 1-to hell (level 100 writing this) was close to what was listed.
Fateweaver TU4
DarkFlesh TU4
The Allseeing Eye TU3 (Dex Requirement)
Wake of Destruction TU2 (Str Requirement)
Honorific Leather Gloves, Sash, Quilted Robe (TU1) with the following in order: Phys/Mag spell damage, Resists, Hit Recovery, Energy, Uninterruptible attack.
Rare Ring/Ammy with random stats, haven't even found +1 skills on ammy yet so still very fresh.

Enough stats for gear at those levels, rest into Energy.

skills : Max Embalming, Death Pact, Death Ward, Boneyard, Nightwalker, Dream Eater.

With Class Charm and Sunstone sitting at ~7.25k dream eater and 8.3k boneyard.

I like Dream Eater now that it is maxed. And because I like it, I believe it will be nerfed. The Patch Notes says a diminishing cooldown, where as it is a flat -.24 per base level at the moment. That will get fixed and I bet it will be on a cooldown so it can't be spammed. If not, and the patch notes are fixed to reflect it, good.

Dream Eater is still strange at times, because it sends out missles it can miss mobs, especially ones next to walls. The Terror debuff doesn't always connect and some mobs will maintain velocity.

Switching out Fateweaver for Quov's Dirk can also be a good choice leveling since the reanimates will keep mobs busy.

I'll add any input also, I am enjoying the build. It definitely is not as smooth as summoner or melee to start in my experience, but at 90 it starts to gain some momentum.

dont understand why everyone keeps picking tu greaves when you can make an honorific and do much better, since the energy factor bonus is useless til you get into the 115-120 ranges and can start focusing on scaling.

put +50 strength, +50 dex, +20 phys/magic honorific t1 boots.

because a t2 greaves requires level 27 and already has 17% physical/magical damage and around 30 energy . a honorific with such stats is much higher level req. also , to use so many honorifics so early requires tons of gold to be able to mo them all , which you don't got . you can barely MO 2 or 3 honorifics in a decent pace along the other non-honorifics . a 4th honorific will be mo'able around Hell , when it's kinda late and you look for better options , so it would be a bad investment (unless you twink)

to add on this , if mo'ing a t2 ot t3 greaves with other 10% physical/magical spell damage you get more damage compared to honorifics .

it is not about the energy factor boost

also , why would one use t1 honorifics lol ? having more sockets is overrated in Sigma 1.4 ? t4 leather honorifics require just around 60-80 str

god forbid someone gives knowledge without chuck trying to prove he's right.

honorific because everyone keeps saying "I dont want to uptier the rest of my gear, not enough stats".

With zero cooldown on Dream Eater, I'm actually finding myself spamming that as my AoE skill... Its a smaller AoE obviously, but far from unusable. It doesn't clear that much slower than Boneyard, and you get the heals too. Am I the only one?

Boneyard definitely does have its uses though, in very dense areas and when you are "blind" casting at enemies ahead.
