Have you tried turning on the game's "Colorblind Mode?"
It won't change the color, but it will give you handy text indicators for Unique and Set items.

play around with the contrast and gamma to find something suitable in Preferences > Video/sound settings in game.

i do use the notifier i just struggle to see unique items on the floor i have bad eyes
