Life stolen per hit works only with physical (attack) damage, you cant leech from elemental or magic damage, and bosses have greatly increased leech resist, so basically you cant use life steal on them. Life on hit works with any melee attack, but its a flat value, it doesnt scale with your damage, but bosses dont reduce this.

I would go with life leech.. but really depends on the weapon..

You can only leech from weapon damage

Great hunt converts all of it to magic damage , so using that as main attack , you will not life leech

The only ways to regain life by using great hunt is from life on attack, life on kill, life on striking
