Baal (and Diablo as well) is a nuisance if you can not deal big damage in short time.
You need to invest into that "boss-killer" skill and use it on him (any character should have at least one).

I always bring myself a Shape Shifter with Tier unique Spetum (Miasma on Melee hit), the slow is just so good to help control Baal/Diablo.
