Ele barb questions

Hello

I’ve noticed that nearly all the top barbs are playing this crystal sword “dawn” setup with the SU Kriegsmesser.
My question is, how does the build play? Keep up overload and spam primordial strike to clear? And since top barb is lvl 149 it should be able to perform well in high labs and scosglen for exp.
I just can’t see how the build functions, but it looks very interesting and I want to play it.
Anyone got info about it ?

I am also interested in information on this build.
At least some information about rotation / items would be helpful. Maybe some features or limitations..

Don't read too much into ladder, people can play lab in party carried by holy caster.

I have ele barb in lab 9. It's not much more complicated than what you just said. Just try it yourself.

Cold (dawn RX) seems better overall than Fire (mammen axe RW). I used the +2max res shield RW with fire spec with runemaster and got 40 block with 2mill defense with it, but cold has way easier than getting fast block, fhr, ias.

I melt hell Baal in 5 seconds. xD

Excuse me, but... SU Kriegsmesser? I thought elemental tree says it disables dual-wielding.

You probably cant start is as a ele, first "ele weapons" have level req like 30 or so ( right ? ) and I magine, mana regen might be a pain in the ass at leveling.

Not true, you can buy throwing axe or gamble mamen at level 1. Spec 1pt earthquake and you will one shot screens to the end of a1. Ele weapons are better starter than physical.

As for kriegsmesser, its used as "statstick" offhand just to enable stormblast oskill and grant 2nd stormbolast projectile.

and together with lightning belt add light shield which adds lightning damage I guess. Especially cold spec has basically -200 pierce to all elements so it helps.

Not at all, I just started an ele barb and he's doing fine in early A1 at least. Throwing axes are elemental weapons, they drop as rares pretty often early on, and scale with strength. Iron Spiral is a potent clearing skill. So early on ele barb is strong, I just don't know what I'll need to wear when things start getting serious.

Yeah, throwing axe, mammen axe, and ono are all level 1. You can then gamble crystal sword or battleaxe at 15 and drop them at 19.
