Help me about Runewords preparation

Hi everybody, I am playing Median XL 2.0

I have a problem with the preparation item for runewords: According to the guide, I get a magic item, use oil of renewal to change to normal item, then use oil of luck to add bonus, finally add socket and create superior item to add runes. But when I use the oil of renewal to magic item, the item change to superior item and cannot reroll the stat or use the oil of luck and can only upgrade to superior item with sockets.
So please help me about this, how to reroll the base item to get the idea stat before runewords?

Thanks for noted me, about this. This mean oil of luck is no need for additional base stat, but what about oil of conjuration? Does it still affect on weapon?

You’ll need a non-superior base item in order to Oil of Conjuration
