Bad items are there for a reason, if every drop you find is pure gold then whats the point of farming? And balancing items is huge work, I'd rather see dev team to focus on more important issues.

Agreed! Make sets useful again ! Stats on sets that has nothing with the build to do should be changed. Thats a balance improvement. More giving then having 1000 tyraels drops a Ladder .

The statistics are very lacking. To a lesser extent, this is felt by barbarians and paladins, although the latter has a higher increase than the barbarian, but there are also more powerful passives and buffs.
