I tried this class but the rebuff madness of mooncall threw me away. Why deal with such short buff if I can play elementalist barb and have conflux which has the same purpose (life on attack and dmg boost) but lasts 10 minutes instead of just a few seconds?

Did you forget the part where ele barb has 3 exclusive short buffs on top? Melee sorc compared to that is a braindead right-clicker.

just hold right click and switch from bladestorm to mooncall and back using the hotkeys every now and then

I mostly use purifying flame for some healing, the other two rarely. The short buffs of the elementalist barb are more like a panic button and situational, not a core buff that allows you to play your build properly like conflux.

Other examples of core build buffs: deathlord, lionheart, anathema, grim presence, barb stances, vesseldin buffs. All of them last long because they are part of the build's core design. It would be terrible if any of those buffs lasted 20 seconds.

I even made a suggestion to merge sanguine covenant with grim presence for ritualist paladin because sanguine fells more like a core buff for the unholy melee than a situational buff.

YES, it's pretty annoying reset Sanguine covenant every 40 secs...Damn, it's a elemental build, and with no leech the LOS it's critical.

That's a big cope exactly because these buffs are annoying to manage and none of them are neither panic buttons nor situational.

Nice try, but melee sorc core buff is Baneblade. Which is twice as long as Deathlord, Lionheart, Tainted Blood, Grim Presence and barb stances, four times as long as Anathema and only 2/3rd of nephalem buffs (by which I assume you mean vessels).

Mooncall is in category of old Angel of Death, old Solar Flare, Shadow Refuge, Sanguine Covenant, Elemental Wisdom/Spark of Hope and exclusive ele barb buffs. By a complete coincidence, Mooncall is the least important buff as far as stats concerned. LoMA loss kinda sucks, but sucks way less than mechanically clearing worse/losing speed breakpoints/max res dropping in the middle of the fight. Currently melee necro kinda wins as far as QoL concerned but he doesn't have an OP 1h weapon base with a damage of 2hander with built-in splash and he has to use separate skills for single target and clear, which makes for a pretty icky right-clicker playstyle.
All in all Mooncall refresh is a non-problem because ALL melee classes in this mod have to rely on some short-timed buff anyway.

It's not mooncall is just a basic buff that makes the dps go from crap to decent like lionheart, anathema or conflux do. The only difference is those buffs last longer which turn their builds more enjoyable to play.

You are trying to put it in the same category as a utility buff such as shadow refugee or the the short buffs of the elementalist barb.

Angel of death is a purposeless skill. Necro already has a innate warp. Invest 25 points on it is a waste of skill points. I slap those 25 points in voodoo practice which sinergises with melee necro physical dmg and pick life from death for some extra physical resistance.
