Hello all; first time posting to guide forums.
I wanted to try to help/contribute to this guide and any who may be using this guide as a reference.

If you're like me and wanted to play MXL to "See the Content", Summoner Barb is a very strong and affordable build to do this.
It is excellent at farming, especially the "easy" farming like Teganze / Duncraig / Triune / K3K / Toraja / Viz-Jun. It can farm Fautzinville relatively well, and is EXCELLENT at Bremmtown.
Despite what this guide says, I found it very effective for Ubers with the proper min/maxing (of course there are other builds that are better for some fights, but that's the point of MXL).

This build/feedback was generated from playing summoner barb in Sigma 1.5.

About Me: I have only played in ~3 ladders, and I am not a MXL life-long player
(so there are plenty more knowledge-able than myself, and I am merely trying to share information for those of us trying to progress).
I had ~100 TG when starting this ladder, and it could have easily been 0 TG.
I consider this build very "affordable"... You don't need 1k TG to make this work, and I would argue you could play this build entirely self-found quite effectively.

I will try to focus on DIFFERENCES/comments/suggestions from the guide on page1, but I'm sure there will be overlap.
(Hence this is not a Full-Guide post).

- Offers some minion dmg and survivability (phys-res). Guide says Moonwrap but I don't understand why... Cast speed is only relevant for summoning minions, and they will never really die until late game; and even then other items usually provide plenty. Your minions will have much more survivability than yourself
3) Rings: Keep any/all +1 skills / +minion damage you can find. Nebelrings are great, but I'm assuming as a starter you won't have TG or haven't found rings. The great thing is +1 sk / +minion damage rings spawn at relatively low character-lvl-requirement (~60's?), so you can MO the snot out of them to help your progression.
4) Ammy: +Skill / Minion damage. Note that you can lottery up to +4 skills, but I am always unlucky when rolling the +3 base ammys...

Key Loot priorities to Mid/End-game:
1) Upgrading from the guide-recommended helms to ShadowTwin is HUGE upgrade. Summoned Skeletor does massive damage, and it APPEARS (I could be wrong) that he applies Might to himself (and maybe all other minions, can't remember). Skeletor alone can practically solo bosses that are killing your summons, and he's tanky AF...

regardless, and it is quite affordable. I min/maxed my build to do the same content he published in youtube videos; and bosses died just as quickly, so I'm not convinced wombo combo will allow me to do any additional content from what I succeeded below.

Crafting:
Belt, Boot, Gloves...
make sure to keep at least 2x crafting bases...
that way you can keep your "best-equipped", and continue to re-craft an alternative that can be an upgrade.
You should continue to re-roll continuously until you get near max-rolls for Minion %Damage / +Skills, Minion %life/Minion %res.
Perfect Crafted + Blessed boots/belts/gloves would be 100% Minion ED each; so you should be looking for high rolls and continue to improve them.

JEWELS:
I'm VERY disappointed this guide did not specifically HIGHLIGHT the importance of this.
KEEP ALL CRAFTING (>lvl 80) JEWELS YOU FIND, ALWAYS, UNTIL VERY END-GAME AND YOU HAVE TRULY MIN-MAXED HERE.
Good crafted jewels are such a stat increase for barb summoner build, it is unbelievable.
As I mentioned above, Minion res is easy to cap out, and see below for my comment on MF jewels.
WHY CRAFT SO MANY JEWELS?
Kur Rune: +3-6%... that's only 6% + other good stats... BUT
You have a low random chance to roll additional +minion damage stat.
Perfect Jewel: +20% ED +other good stats (e.g. +STR, +% str, +minion %life, etc.)
You should prioritize keeping all jewels with >10% minion damage, until you have gathered such a jewel collection, you can really min/max with your jewels.
Sometimes you may need to top off a few elemental res here/there, or FCR breakpoint, or minion all res, and you can cheaply swap a few jewels into your build to keep your breakpoints all met.
And these jewels can stick with you as you get better and better gear; so it becomes a VERY cost-effective time-sink to improving your character.

Let's do the math... Endgame gear (Gladiator's rage build)...
23 Jewels x 20% Minion ED = 460% Minion ED added from Jewels alone... Which is like 25-40% of your overall +minion damage (obviously stat depending).
That is a huge amount.
And keep in mind, these jewels are relatively "FREE" compared to expensive items like Undead crown; just keep them as you progress and spend your crystals on them...
In my final gear, ALL jewel slots were 18-20% Minion ED + other useful stats.
Yes, it requires craft craft crafting...
I did LOTS of jewel crafting, and LOTS of jewel-swapping in and out depending on gear during progression (for RES, FCR, etc.). It is nice to have options.
My Jewel-Craft mule probably has ~50 jewels all with >10% Minion ED, and those are my spares...

Comments on MO / End-Game stat prioritization
1) Although the Summoner Barb can feel quite "Defensively squishy", especially when seeing some late Ubers, I highly recommend prioritizing Minion %damage. The guide recommends %Minion Resist on MO's and Jewelry, but especially with
Shadowtwin
Shadowtwin

, it is quite easy to maintain 75 All Res on minions and getting your minions enough stats to survive. My argument is in lots of situations, you can play better/more cautiously and live with being a bit squishy... But if you become damage limited you simply cannot progress (i.e. Minion damage can't out-dps boss regen or minions, etc). There will be some fights where FCR is important to Out-Summon your minions faster than they die.

2) Minion Res: 75, this is quite easy, but always maintain it.

3) Minion Life: This is very nice; you will quickly find in endgame that your minions easily outsurvive you. This makes Skeletor incredible strong and he can simply face tank some bosses where your other summons get wrecked.

Comment on MF stat sacrificing
Yes MF is nice to have, yes +mf is always good.
But I'm a firm believer in "Progression"; you will find one-offs here and there to trade for some TG for the items you need.
And unless you are going for Undead Crown Wombo Combo, everything is quite affordable and I think you should focus instead on progression stats (e.g. +minion damage / survivability / etc.).
I could understand a 2nd jewel-set that you swap in and out if you're mf farming, but sounds annoying since I'm progression-oriented.

Comment on Survivability vs Damage Output
Great thing about Summon Barb... You can always respec and trade-off some Minion Damage vs personal survivability.
Need more damage? dump more points in +Str / Wolf Stance
Need more survivability? Dump more points in +vit / bear stance (content depending) / Immortal

Comment on Nephalem Spirit:
After much discussion in discord with the Experts, there is an old patch note Sigma 1.1 that states:
"NEPHALEM SPIRIT: Is now a Passive rather than an aura-granting minion. Your Ancient Spirits will inherit this skill". This increase in damage will not be indicated in the damage stats when you mouse over their damage in-game (e.g. mousing over guardian spirit spell).

SKILLS
I tried several variants... Always max Guardian spirit
1) Lots of points in Protector Spirit (Really nice while leveling and minions are squishy before having lots of %minion life), 1 or more in Defender Spirit
2) More points in bear stance when lacking Phys Res
3) 1 point Protector Spirit / Defensive spirit, Max wolf stance for damage.
4) Trading off to get more points in Immortal at the expense of "Damage", like Nephalem Spirit and Wolf Stance.

I found #1/#2 to be great while leveling/progression until mid Ubers, and swapping between #3/#4 depending on Uber.

STATS
Obviously, all strength for damage, and/or some VIT for life if you need to trade off survivability.
Barb is all about min/maxing... keeping 75 Minion Res at all times, keeping your res maxed, trading off +str and +life for survivability, hitting FCR breakpoints is nice for late game.
Here are some useful Notes/calculations I took while comparing some tradeoffs (your #'s will vary based on your current gear).
Based on displayed #'s (so may not be 100% accurate)
After buffs,
-+1 Skill <=> 37.6% Minion Damage

I did not gather a screenshot of my final summoner stats, but I want to say I was around +1350% Minion Damage min/maxed (Shadowtwin build) with me jewels/etc.

MISC COMMENTS
Summoner is great to relaxingly farm things you will need for other build... such as plenty of essence/Xis from Teganze or charms from Triune. So if you will eventually switch out to another build, I would recommend doing some of the boring farming with this build

UBER PROGRESSION CONTENT
For those of you like me who primarily care about seeing content, I truly think I pushed summoner barb to the limits short of getting the Undead Crown Wombo Combo. And I don't think getting that would push me much further....

You can use this to do a surprisingly LARGE amount of content, on the relatively affordable build (i.e. I probably spent ~ 80 TG total)

Sorry I did not get into recording video until I swapped into Warcry.

Below is the UBER content I was able to Complete.

Some gotchas/tips for those who are stuck and want tips...
Obviously all comments depend on your gear state (but if you're like me, you didn't min/max all gear til ~130-135)

Please let me know any feedback or questions.
I greatly enjoyed this build since it took me farther in MXL than any of my other ladders (2x with Bowzon).

And Forever thanks to the MXL mods; you guys have done an amazing job capturing the complexity and depth and build variety of what made D2 great...

You are missing some seriously critical pieces to this build. I just started Median XL two weeks ago, but I would work on your helm first and foremost (Shadowtwin). Then probably shield, chest, wep in that order.

Here is my character for reference: https://tsw.vn.cz/acc/char.php?name=Raz_Barb

What's the best boss killer barb spec now that Warcry has been nerfed - is it Snake Bite now?

I assume summoner barb is still best farming spec - is it better than necro summoner though (Abyss Knights)?
