This is a miniguide to a build I've received a lot of questions about through the Challenge season because of a few reasons:
1.) It's a relatively fast dcowing spec for assassins who normally struggle to grind through the experience to get to Level 121.
2.) A screenshot from hitting Level 121 as the first assassin during the Challenge Season drew a lot of attention due to the damage output.
3.) It's a unique assassin build that was buffed, but went almost unheard of for a while.

"But why waste your time on a shunposin when you can just make a pouncezon, noob."
1.) Assassin gets a ton of avoid from Perfect Being and her class charm, Shadow Vortex (5% Avoid from the Level Challenge 2).
2.) You can easily hit the %DR Cap at 50% with your skill, Shadow Refuge.
3.) You have a ton of elemental damage from your Ways skills, Charms, and gear, along with Physical from your weapon itself, and if you use regular Naginata attacks, you can benefit from Magic damage too (Laserblade skill).
4.) It's unique, as stated above. Cookie cutter builds get old and boring when you see everyone and their brother playing the same character.

*Note* These claws can be as low as Tier 3 for them to get max sockets. You don't need a Sacred claw for these. Rares can get bloodlust at an ilvl of 48, meaning you can reroll these as soon as you get into terror, and they're easy to make with D2Clicker and Dragon Eggs in Act 2.

For the naginata below - This is a very endgame example, with a very lucky roll, getting Double MO bonus, and shrine blessed. You almost need D2Clicker to make this in a reasonable time. It took me about 4,000 rolls with D2Clicker to get this one to work. I set the parameters to:

Gameplay
Buff with Beacon from Sky Scorcher, switch back to Bloodlust from Shamanka/Crafted BL Claws, activate Queen of Blades, swing with Shadow Refuge to get the buff, Shunpo through the mobs. Stop Shunpo'ing every so often to re-apply Shadow Refuge buff as needed. The %DR we gain from that buff is too important to ignore.

If you have Stormblade, then congrats. You win the game. Pounce your way to victory and provide screens and videos for everyone to watch in awe.

Video 1: Gear reveal (Merc gear too - fairly important for us because of Thunderslam stun, Shower of Rocks, and MOTW buff) and DCow run.

Don't want Hellfire Plate because the blink proc will stop your Shunpo and move you somewhere unintended more often than the armor would be helpful.

Natasha's is good, but MNX Armor/Segnitia are better for their own stats. Nat's is a great merc armor for this build (see second video at end)

I disagree with this statement because every single "cookie cutter build" can be improved or adapted for personalized play. A pouncezon can be built and played in many different ways. It's the same with every "cookie cutter build" though

Yea but my point being that it's a pouncezon. You can gear/spec it however you want, but it still remains a pouncezon, ya know?

Dcowing with a Shunposin is a joke! I tried it just before the new year, and you can clear the entire level very quickly! One thing I might suggest, which helped me a lot was the lightning arena oskill on an amulet. For high density areas it held back enemies while I shunpo'd them within the arena, similar to barrier strike for a normal nagisin. For enemies that didn't die after one shunpo I could pounce on them again while the arena held back other enemies. A rare amulet with 5 to all skills, lightning arena, doom proc, and other useful stats, like damage and life would be excellent! But the Beads of the Snake Queen is also really tempting... I guess if you have enough life leech already it might be a better choice in my opinion, but it would be hard to roll one with all those stats.

Nice miniguide though! I would like to make another Shunposin this new season, but I'll be too busy. Maybe I'll try it out in the summer :)

Smart suggestion. I always pass on Lightning Arena cause it's frustrating to roll and lags my screen, but I will edit it in.

BotSQ is an endgame option for all the stats on it. We get doom from the Black Hand Sigil ring at that point, so its a win-win all over.
