Nope, melee hpal has already good boss-killer skill and should stick to 2-hand str based weapons.

This is for SU Bonebreaker users - some kind of unholy melee paladin minibuild.

As he said, Mad King's Spine is really good with Unholy Melee and this shield, also insanely strong with Azurewrath if by some miracle you get that weapon.

Yeah shields are big no for hmp. You dont have the dexterity to get high block chance and you will sacrifice a lot of damage going for 1h weapon.

procs like crazy(The docs shows the item wrong, its %20 chance to proc level 7 spike nova), and since the proc on this item counts as wdm attack, it can proc other stuff as well. So merc gets hit, merc procs spike nova, spike nova procs other on striking procs.

Other than that, as you mentioned miasma is really good, since it slows down monsters a lot.

Shower of Rocks can be quite good as well because it reduces mobs AR, velocity and attack speed. But since it appears as "on kill" proc, it will not be good in late game(Labs), since merc will not kill anything there.

Yes miasma is really good, especially in labs.

Demonic touch has proc as a plus, facebreaker has insane ias as a plus, but rogue foresight has no other good stat for merc. And -10% str is a negative to begin with.

Also i would recommend shapeshifter if you wanna run labs. You dont have to get any %dr on them, and can just focus on procs. Act 5 merc doesnt deal any damage in labs anyway, so it would be kinda pointless to use him.
