How to play:As you level, focus first on the Werebear tree, putting points into the corruption tree when you can’t put them into the Werebear tree. Always make sure that you have Mark of the Wild (innate skill) active. Rend will be your bread and butter here, as this is your only skill that gives Life Leech. Once you get acid fiends, make sure to use them. Not only do they absorb some damage and deal a decent amount as well, but their aura is a massive boost. Use Idol of Scosglen pretty much whenever you would like at this stage. The damage on it is really nothing to write home about, but the movement and defensive buff it gives you may just save your life a time or two. As with any build, make sure to keep your gear upgraded and your resistances high. Many new players that complain about dying typically struggle because they lack resistances. Also, be sure to add Oil of Luck to your gear in the hopes of getting some extra bonuses! Lastly, once you get to Act 5, get a Mercenary. I personally don't use them, simply because I forget to, but they can be a huge help.
Where to get early game gear/money:Gearing can be intimidating for many new players, but it doesn’t need to be. In the beginning, just use the best thing that drops. Once you get to Mephisto (Act 3- drops 2 uniques each time) or to Nihlathak (Act 5- drops 3 uniques each time), you can kill these bosses over and over again for uniques. These become arcane crystals that can be used to upgrade or even create the items you need (if the bosses didn’t drop what you needed). Two Arcane Crystals + Oil of Enhancement + item will make the item unique. Let’s do an example. In the gear guide, I recommend the Edge of Extinction Giant Axe. If I put a white, grey, blue, or yellow giant axe into the cube with 2 crystals and 1 oil of enhancement, it will become the Edge of Extinction. You can do this with all of your gear. As for honorific items, take any blue item and add it with a Mark of Infusion (drops from the first boss in Act 5) to make that item honorific. I would encourage all new players to look at the cube recipes page and to become familiar with it
