I'm playing a Dagger + Shield melee necro at the moment and it rekts. Facerolling Fauzt using carnage. Sha'ad RW Dagger and 4x Poison Rune Shield - Khalim's Protector. Scales of the Serpent body armour, Abandoned craft gloves and boots, Nero RW belt. all together i'm getting 15k damage on Carnage and 55% chance to block, really nice balance and it's owning :) :) Klaatu ammy is a nice bonus, trollskull on switch for bloodlust. happy times!

Guys, im really new to the whole melee necro, and i have a question:

I have both a sha'ad and 6x Ea runes i have farmed with other chars.
My question is, what weapon should i use, the sha'ad runeword or the 6x Ea one?.

Edit: forgot to mention, i also have the full rathma set, however, im not sure that would beat some runewords while i farm for S/S/SU

Vith RW belt will give you a lot of DR.

Also make sure to craft life leech jewels, they'll help a lot with sustaining while taking dmg.

You can do plenty of things to get more damage reduction or overall better Def or equip, just for example a couple of things that you can do are:
1) consider crafting armor parts with Intimidating shrines and bless them with a Creepy shrine (CB and more strength) or a Shimmering one (-%enemy poison res) and use some crafted leech jewels to fill some sockets.
2) if you can survive Kurast3K and TA in terror, farm those places to gain some set items to mix and play with (even if not part of the melee set remember that

Already crafted jewels. Though I thought it may be problematic to use vith RW since I play dagger+shield dex build I'm having some difficulties with raising my str which deadfall gives plenty.
