That's why I focus on rainbow dmg. CB is useful for 1st hits. Finishing off enemies with just CB and no Rainbow dmg may take a while.
Anyway, this ladder is tough to get 100% CB without losing rainbow dmg or other good stuff from items, i'm working on this, for now i have 91% CB without giving up on rainbow dmg, dr and such. Anyway, try to get CB as close to 100% as you can.

deserves attention. 10 %DR (11 if you do oil of luck, and you can retry by using 2 ac + oil of enanchement until you get it), rainbow dmg, lot of MO space.. also what are you MOing? i think i need to clarify MO part and give it a section. For example if you are using gehenna, have you MOed 5 ED orbs before making the RW?
Baal and all bosses are a little tougher this patch, and yes Baal's avoid may be boring but, with mid game gear and jitan kamon and

Also remember eggtrap and thorne wall, when quills don't suit you, try these.
About merc they said it, bloodmage is a good solid choice, you can equip him with sacred Honorifics (six socket sword can be TU, no need for sacred) and MO in weapon FCR, Fire dmg, MF. In defensive gear go for Fire spell, ed, tcd, MF. you will get a merc with over 500k def, that can instaheal you and survive easily, with around 240% MF and is cheap to do.
Another choice, more expansive but fun for me, is barb. Oh, get your mercs on normal difficulty, they have better stats. anyway, equip barb with cc (croud control) items, like headbanger, toorc gift and such. Slowly i will get also a section for merc, but i think about barb there is a guide already.
