Crossbow Necromancer & His Melee Brother

Introduction and guide info
This guide will be detailed info for that how to make xbow necro machine gun that can kill almost everything. Necro is char that with respec and some game knowedge can kill every uber in MXL2017. Respecting to melee in some moments is essential but I will explain this also. Guide will cover early-mid game and in the biggest part end-game gameplay and unique tips. Xbow guide is not something new but since the other Zomg guide is a lil bit outdated I decided to give you my version of xbow necro.



Advantages:
- Easy farm
- No need of expensive items for profitable farm
- No skill switching, easy gameplay
- 121 farm is not essential
- With endgame gear can run p8 FZ/TA/Cows
Disadvantages:
- Respecting for some ubers is a must
- Can be tricky for new players
- Need some key SUs for gamebreaking the ubers



Early Game


From ZERO...
Necro class specific skill, that we start with is Burning Veil. It creates a fire wall that boost our both physical and elemntal damage. Bonus at the beginning is only for 4 seconds, but skill is spamable and will be easy to get used with it.
Despite the logic we will start as melee, our first main xbow skill is at level 18. I find it easier and faster to play melee till 18. So use the gold signet that buy Raptor Scythe. For melee necro we use Raptor Scythe and Bonesplitter, they are getting damage bonus from STR, while Scythes from DEX. We are going to play with STR. On level 2 learn carnage and thing getting easier. Go for Den of Evil Quest, and you will have reset point from Akara. We will you that on level 18. Go for Raven Quest to get free Archer merc and rush to free Cain. On this stage we can start rerunning Tristram for Gift Box drop.
You can level up even 18 level in reruning, and pick all ring/amulets - this is our main source of gold. Put anything you find usefull from Gift Boxes.

Once level 18 reset stats and skills. And our xbow journey begins. First tip, while in old cLoD versions skills DOES consume arrows, here our skills are arrow-free. So our main skill on LEFT BUTTON till the end of the world will be Fragmentation Shot (Aoe shot that hit enemies in certain radius).

Gameplay:



Our first challenge is on level 50, so we are free to level up and go through town till level 50. So we put on left mouse button Fragmentation Shot and on right Widowmaker. Here is the tricky part for those who play this build for first time. To use widowmaker you need to have minion, so you summon minion and cast widowmaker on your own minions. This will result to many arrows popping out or arround your minion. One option is to use left button for summon Rampagor and right on Widowmaker, but I preffer to switch right from summon Rampagor to Widowmaker. Summon all you Skeletals, Rampagors, Void Archon, buff with Burning Veil and spam Widowmaker on top of any of your minion. At this stage of the game they will probably die fast but this will change in late game. I prefer Rampagors before Skeletals. On this patch Skeletals outfit is changed and they are annoyingly tiny, so Rampagors = easy life. Void archon is also a nice option. Skeletals advantage is their aura, so if you can keep resummon and target them easy its better to use them.
When you get used with this you can start use Bane. Trick is the same, targat you minion and cast bane. This will cause enemies around your minion to get Physical Defence debuff.
Pass Act 1 (Butcher in Barracks dops Catalyst Of Destruction so you can kill it now or go back later) and start farming Act 2 Sewers for fast exp. For there prepare some fire/psn resists. Level up and go through towns till you reach 49-50 lvl when is time for our first challenge and our first charm.

90+ Real game begins


At this moment our uber skill is unlocked and we can choose between our blue pill and red pill like in one popular movie. Our blue pill is Rathma's Chosen and red is Death Ward. Here is my choice in this guide. Most of people flame me that its total mistake to use RC but I don't care. To be honest I don''t remember if Zomg used it in his guide or if it was existing at all. So we put one of our spare skill points in RC, we must have free skill points. Skill tree remains the same plus 1 point in RC. RC makes our game easier, target minion cast RC on it, and just hold widowmaker button on same minion and walk forward. Death Ward is good option too, we get alot of defence and chance to avoid, but our minions still will die and must be resumonned.

MINIGAME 1: WITCH QUEEN



Location: Act1 TERROR> Black Marsh > Tower lvl 5
Need: Eth Rune, Summons.

After entering Tower lvl 5, open tp because chance to die is high here. Level is full with untargetable Witches that pounce and oneshot you when you go near. Idea here is to reach Countess and slay some of guards. Swirs will appear and you ahve to cube your Class Charm + Eth Rune.

MINIGAME 2: MIRROR MIRROR



Location: Act5 TERROR> Worldstone Chamber(Baal Room)
Need: Lem Rune, Luck
Protip: If you're strong enough summon minions and kill only Shadowspawn, there s chance on kill to get swirls. The are spawned differently than before, I don't know the exact mechanism of spawning them but its not important. Now after you kill Baal they continue spawn for a while, so wait a little bit before entering red portal.



Eyes and Dogmas



- As you already noticed on Terror, and as you will see on Destruction, act bosses drop some scrolls(dogmas). Collect 5 Different and transmute them in cube to gain Signet Of Skill. Eat it and you will gain extra skill point. Maximum number of signets you can eat is 3. So you can farm act bosses on terror for dogmas to collect 3 free skill points.

- Eyes as I call them or Veteran Tokens are droppable by special monsters. They are located in previous zone before act boss, 5 different types for 5 acts. Not sure about their spawn chance but they are rare, especially when you look for them, when you dont need can meet plenty. For our build only act 1 mobs are some bussiness since they use poison can kill our Minions with Rathma chosen. Others can be tanked with Rathma minion and spam widowmaker on it.
Act 1 - Jail levels, Act 2 - Canyon of Magi, Act 3 - Travi, Durance levels, Act 4 - Whole River Of Flame till Sanctuary, Act 5 - Worldstone keep levels.
Protip: I've noticed something nowere written or proven before. If you enter game and for example find veteran mob in act 2, i think that if one veteran mob is spawned the others are spawned also. Tried this and when find one of them I go and search fo the others in the same game and 99% of times I've found them also.



Mid Game


Some of you will be wondering why we are not doin Black Road Challenge (BRC), at this point I don't think our main purpose is to do it and I just postone it for some time. By Running Terror maybe we got some shrines dropped. I personally pick only Creepy, Fascinating and some Magical[/color for our crafts. For trades most of shrines can be collected. At this point we start to watch for:
- Rare Sacred Gauntlets, Crown, Plated Belt, Greaves.
- Any sacred belt, gloves, crossbow/necro xbows(needle xbow is best option) for future runewords.

This is the order that i do uber in. Classical difficulty colors for ubers.

The Butcher - Summoning Uber
Location: Act 1 > Black Marsh > Hole lvl 2
Easy charm, see tactic in video. Butcher is vulnerable ONLY when he is on the pentagram. Summon some victims for Butcher, summon him, move back and resummon only by one so he can kill them fast, when star is spawned just summon some minion on star, ratma's chosen and widowmaker. Same tactic we will use on BRC.

Infernal Machine - Dungeon Uber
Location: Act 1 > Tamoe Highlands > The Pit lvl 2
Summon some minions, Rathma chosen on them, enter Pit lvl 2, and depends on mobs counts go down and kill the machine. You can debuff with Bane or kill it with Fragmentation Shot. Easy one.

Creature of Flame - Dungeon Uber
Location: Act 2 > Lost City > Dimensional Sanctrum
This one oneshot you so mobility and position are the tactics here. With xbow there is one tricky location where you can do it without taking damage.
At this stage we will lack AR so better option is to use Fragmentation Shot. Just Bane and Fragmentation shot.

Tal Rasha and the Binding of Baal - Summoning Uber
Location: Act 2 > Valley Of Snakes
We need here alot of resists... no thanks, we can exploit it :) Go in any corner summon as many minions as you can in the corner, move on them and summon the boss. Due to lack of location for summon, you will summon only the boss or maybe 1-2 guards. Fast move back and Widowmaker/Fragmentation shot. Dont forget to use Rathma's Chosen on 2-3 minions before summon boss.

Akarat - Summoning Uber
Location: Act 3 > Kurast Causeway
2-3 Summons with RC, summon and run away fast, spam Widowmaker and that's it.

Rathma Square - Dungeon Uber
Location: Act 3 > Kurast Causeway
RC agian 2-3 summons before enter, summon the rest you have and enter. Carefully walk to the boss and spam Widowmaker all the time. Frogs respawn 2-3 seconds after got killed so, you have to be some kind of fast and careful. Boss is easy, but drop chance of this charm is the sad part.

Judgment Day - Summoning Uber
Location: Act 1 > Inner Cloister
My favourite uber since first time I tried it. RC one Skeletal, one Lamia, Void Archon. Summon everything you have, since idea here is the summoned untargetable spirits to eat your minions and spawn the boss. Just let the RC minions tank and keep summoning on top of spirits. When one boss is spawned and killed he will drop charm try to pick it but don't rush in the spirits, just keep calm. You will see swirls around you (red or blue depends on killed boss). Yes spawned bosses are 2 types, you have to kill them both to get the both red and blue swirls and cube the dropped charm itself in cube.
- Don't try to drink pots, they are useless here.
- Use sound to hear boss spawning.
- Do it with sound on, since one of bosses use Nuklear bomb (Beacon) and you can hear it so you can run away a lil bit.
- Easy uber for us, its yellow because sometimes you can wait 10 mins till get the boss spawned.

Lord Aldric Jitan - Summoning Uber
Location: Act 5 > Nihlatak's Temple
Real test for defense is this, and if you want to test it you will fail. Fortress skill used from boss and guards are impossible for tanking on this stage, BUT... Another tricky boss for use. Like Creature of Flame here we can have a save spot where we can't be hurt. Once you got the charm, its not 100%, we will got teleport skill.

Khalimgrad - Uberlevel
Location: Act 5 > Frozen Tundra
Its easy at all, but the drop chance of charm is annoying. My tactic here is to rerun only first avatar till got the charm and go on. Later I come back here to farm better roll of the charm. Avatar can be killed only if you kill mob near him. If you lack AR, use Fragmentation again.

Black Road Challenge Time



This shortly called BRC is chain of 5 mini-challenges. Its doable on TERROR
1. Trial of Fear - Easy one, you have to kill butcher on Terror. Use same strategy as in video for charm. After killed put your class charm in cube and transmute it. Now you will see with green "Trail of Fear completed".
2. Trial of Greed - Here you must have 666, 666 gold in your inventory, put class charm in cube, trasmute it and you will see with green "Trail of Greed completed". Gold is easy farmable on Terror, anywhere in act 5, where you can pick Tier 5-6 Armors. Some of them can cost 500k gold.
3. Trial of Contrition - Kill King Koth on Terror. Again transmute while swirls and "Trial of Contrition"
4. Trial of Knowledge - This is located in Act 2 > Stony Tomb lvl 2 dungeon. This is heroic dungeon with chance to spawn Heroic Boss that will instakill you, just remake game if meet him. Once you enter lvl 2 you will be in Fauztinville. You will need some defence here so be sure you have your equips upped (t6 is not a must but will be easier). Here you have to kill 5 boss robots, take their brains and transmute all 5 with your class charm. Area map can be found in spoiler. Its also nice farmable spot for shrines. Tactic here is rathma chosen minions, bane and widowmaker. One of the robots is on separated location and you need your teleportaion from Jitan charm.

5. Trial of Blood - Now we have to go back to amazons. We have to kill 2 of boss amazons in 30 seconds to get 2 differents swirls around us in same time and transmute our class charm. Your targets are Skovos and Lycander (map in spoiler). This one is tricky since you have to lure both close to each other, but for long time I thought that I have to kill all 3 in 30 seconds - That was trickier. You can ask somoene for help and use portals, but I always do this by myself. In video I will show you where to lure them and how exactly this can be done.

The Black Road Completion - if you have done all of the trails, remember order of doing them is your choice, you will see on you class charm "All Trails Completed". Now transmute your class charm with 2 Arcane Crysals and it done. Once done you will get bonuses for doing this. 150 HP/MP. and new skill unlocked - Graveyard. Put 1 point on this one.

is removed and i accept it for melee build and ppl that use Death Ward over Rathma's Chosen. But I use RC and I finish with no buff from the wand and no DW passive. Can't compare the defense before update with DH buff and without it after update but i doubt defense is the same. This is big nerf for our build.

Protip: Swith on buffing gear, buff TB from SU Wand, AND CAST DEATHLORD ON SWITCH, always check Deathlord bonuses and cast it with the better choice, for some ubers I even switch gear with more skills and cast it with this gear and then switch back. Angel Of Death is skill that make melee necro some kind of teleportable, something like Leap on cLoD.

For Xbow our skills reamin the same, with addon that we can add some leftovers on Talon's Hold.

Thanks for reports, Buckshot is replaced and I don't like skill that require body for cast. Its not my skill. I just decided to make guide today and started, its my first and maybe make some mistakes. The only thing I write in english nowadays are scripts, and thanks God for autocomplete.
